📋 Description

• Own the end-to-end operational cadence of a 200+ person global engineering organization that ships security software used by millions of consumers and thousands of enterprises. You will architect the operating model that turns the CTO’s vision into predictable, high-quality releases across web, mobile, desktop, and browser-extension products.
• Drive the quarterly OKR and annual planning process, translating strategic priorities into engineering-wide roadmaps, resource allocations, and measurable milestones. You will run the cross-functional “big room” planning sessions that align Product, Security, QA, DevOps, and Support around shared commitments.
• Build and continuously refine the metrics, dashboards, and KPIs that give the CTO and executive team real-time visibility into velocity, quality, security posture, and customer impact. Expect to stand up DORA, SPACE, and custom KPIs within weeks and socialize them until every engineer can recite the goals.
• Lead the evolution of our SDLC: define branching strategy, code-review gates, automated testing tiers, security scanning, and release orchestration. You will decide when we ship, when we rollback, and how we communicate to customers—all while maintaining SOC 2 Type II and ISO 27001 compliance.
• Champion a culture of operational excellence by instituting blameless post-mortems, weekly operational reviews, and monthly “state of engineering” all-hands. Your storytelling will turn raw Jira data into narratives that celebrate wins and accelerate learning from misses.
• Own the $25 M annual engineering budget, partnering with Finance to forecast headcount, cloud spend, tooling costs, and vendor contracts. You will negotiate enterprise agreements with AWS, GitHub, and Datadog while finding 10 % cost optimizations every quarter.
• Serve as the primary escalation point for P0 incidents, coordinating engineering, customer success, and PR teams to restore service and communicate transparently. You will run the 24×7 incident bridge until resolution and then shepherd the corrective-action plan to completion.
• Scale the engineering organization through hyper-growth hiring: refine job architectures, compensation bands, onboarding playbooks, and performance-management cycles. You will mentor a team of Engineering Program Managers and TPMs who become the connective tissue across squads.
• Partner with Product to institutionalize a “security-first” mindset in every feature spec. You will chair the weekly Security Review Board and ensure that penetration-test findings are remediated within SLA.
• Foster a remote-first culture that rivals the best in-person teams: design rituals for synchronous and asynchronous collaboration, select and administer tools (Slack, Notion, Jira, Linear, etc.), and codify documentation standards so that a new engineer can ship code on day one.
• Represent Engineering in customer-facing calls, investor briefings, and M&A due-diligence sessions. Your ability to articulate how we build secure, scalable software will directly influence revenue, funding, and strategic partnerships.
• Spearhead continuous improvement initiatives such as migrating legacy CI/CD pipelines to GitHub Actions, implementing Infrastructure-as-Code with Terraform, and rolling out feature flags for progressive delivery. You will measure success by MTTR, change-failure rate, and customer NPS.
• Create the long-term technical roadmap for internal developer productivity: self-service environments, golden-path templates, and AI-assisted code review. Your north star is a 50 % reduction in time-from-idea-to-production within 18 months.
• Establish and nurture relationships with external security researchers, universities, and open-source communities to keep Keeper at the cutting edge of zero-knowledge architecture and post-quantum cryptography.

🎯 Requirements

• 10+ years leading engineering operations, program management, or technical delivery in a B2B SaaS or cybersecurity company with at least 100 engineers under management
• Proven track record of implementing DORA or equivalent metrics to achieve elite performance levels (lead time <1 hour, change failure rate <5 %)
• Expert-level proficiency with modern SDLC tooling: GitHub, Jira, Terraform, Kubernetes, Datadog, and AWS cost-optimization practices
• Demonstrated experience owning an annual engineering budget exceeding $15 M and negotiating enterprise SaaS or cloud contracts
• Nice-to-have: CISSP, PMP, or AWS Solutions Architect certification and prior experience in a zero-trust or zero-knowledge security environment
