- • The Director of External Communications will shape how argenx tells its story to external audiences, integrating media, patient advocacy, and public policy into a unified strategy that supports business priorities and reinforces the company’s mission to transform immunology and deliver life-changing medicines for autoimmune patients.
- • Day to day, the role involves driving external communications strategies, translating scientific progress into clear corporate narratives, building relationships with media and advocacy groups, monitoring reputational risks, and ensuring consistent messaging across key business moments such as data readouts and regulatory milestones.
- • argenx is a global immunology biotech company rooted in science-based innovation, operating with urgency and impact over hierarchy, where individuals are empowered by expertise, not title, and collaboration fuels progress in solving tough autoimmune disease challenges.
- • In this role, the person will develop strategic judgment and executive presence, deepen expertise in life sciences communications and policy landscapes, and lead high-stakes, cross-functional initiatives that elevate argenx’s reputation and influence in the U.S. healthcare ecosystem.
🎯 Requirements
- • 10+ years of experience in corporate communications, public affairs, media relations, patient advocacy communications, or similar, ideally in biotech, pharma, health, or life sciences.
- • Demonstrated experience in issues or crisis communications, especially within a regulated environment.
- • Proven experience working with advocacy groups, patient organizations, and rare disease communities.
- • Familiarity with the U.S. health, policy, regulatory, reimbursement, and/or legislative landscape.
- • Excellent writing, editorial, and presentation skills, with the ability to distill complex scientific information into clear, compelling narratives.
- • Strong existing relationships with U.S. media in biotech and health sectors.
