  • • Lead financial planning and analysis (FP&A) activities for Global General & Administrative (G&A), Global Medical Affairs, and Operations functions at Scholar Rock Holding Corporation.
  • • Partner with cross-functional leaders to develop, analyze, and execute annual operating budgets and long-range financial plans aligned with corporate strategic goals.
  • • Provide timely, accurate, and insightful financial reporting and variance analysis to senior leadership, identifying key drivers and risks impacting financial performance.
  • • Serve as a strategic financial advisor to department heads, helping frame business decisions, evaluate investment opportunities, and assess financial implications of operational initiatives.
  • • Collaborate with Finance and Accounting teams to ensure accurate and timely month-end close processes, including reconciliation of key expense accounts and preparation of management reports.
  • • Monitor and forecast cash flow, headcount costs, and discretionary spending across assigned functions to support capital allocation and resource optimization.
  • • Design and enhance financial models and dashboards to improve visibility into operational performance and support data-driven decision-making.
  • • Support the implementation of financial systems and process improvements to increase efficiency, accuracy, and scalability of FP&A operations.
  • • Prepare and present financial updates to the Senior Director, FP&A, and other executive stakeholders, translating complex financial data into clear, actionable insights.
  • • Work closely with Global Medical Affairs to track clinical trial expenditures, forecast drug development costs, and align budgeting with regulatory and commercial timelines.
  • • Coordinate with Operations teams to analyze supply chain, manufacturing, and logistics costs, identifying opportunities for cost efficiency without compromising quality or compliance.
  • • Ensure compliance with internal controls, Sarbanes-Oxley requirements, and corporate financial policies across all assigned functions.
  • • Act as a key liaison between Finance and non-finance departments to foster financial literacy and promote accountability for budget adherence.
  • • Contribute to the growth of the FP&A function by mentoring junior analysts and supporting the development of team capabilities.
  • • Support ad hoc financial analyses and special projects as directed by senior leadership, including due diligence for potential partnerships or acquisitions.
  • • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of biopharmaceutical industry trends, regulatory environments, and R&D cost structures to inform financial planning.
  • • Ensure alignment of financial planning with the company’s mission to develop novel therapies for rare neuromuscular diseases, including spinal muscular atrophy (SMA).

🎯 Requirements

  • • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field; CPA or CFA preferred
  • • Minimum of 10 years of progressive FP&A experience, with at least 5 years in biotechnology or pharmaceutical industry
  • • Proven track record of managing financial planning for G&A, Medical Affairs, and Operations functions in a fast-growing biotech company
  • • Strong expertise in budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and financial modeling
  • • Experience working with clinical trial and drug development cost structures
  • • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills with ability to influence non-finance leaders
