• At Wolt, analytics is a cornerstone of our business, encompassing three vital teams: data science, regional business operations, and analytics engineering. • We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Director of Analytics, Courier to spearhead the development and enhancement of our Courier analytics function. This role is critical for scaling our operations and transforming raw data into actionable insights that will directly influence our strategic decision-making and growth trajectory.
• In this pivotal position, you will seamlessly blend strong leadership capabilities with deep, hands-on analytical expertise. You will be instrumental in driving critical data initiatives from conception to completion, shaping high-level strategic decisions, and ensuring that analytics plays a meaningful role in the scaling of Wolt's courier operations.
• Your day-to-day responsibilities will include leading and nurturing a team of approximately 12 high-performing analytics and data science professionals distributed across our Berlin, Helsinki, and London tech hubs. You will assume full ownership of the Courier domain, a critical component at the heart of Wolt's business, which underpins essential experiences for both our courier app users and our backend systems.
• You will drive key analytics initiatives within the Courier analytics organization, delving deeply into data to tackle mission-critical projects. This involves identifying opportunities for optimization, understanding courier behavior, and forecasting future needs to ensure operational efficiency and courier satisfaction.
• A significant aspect of your role will be to foster close partnerships with Director-level and C-level stakeholders across various functions, including Operations, Product, and Engineering. Your ability to communicate complex analytical findings in a clear and compelling manner will be essential for gaining buy-in and driving action.
• You will be empowered to influence strategic decisions through rigorous experimentation, sophisticated causal inference techniques, and robust analytical thinking. This includes designing and interpreting A/B tests, analyzing the impact of policy changes, and developing predictive models to forecast key operational metrics.
• This role offers a unique opportunity to work with a vast and dynamic dataset. The online delivery platform we are building presents complex, real-time challenges involving geolocational and temporal data. 🎯 Requirements

• Over 8 years of leadership experience in Product Data Science or a similar analytics field at a Head of or Director level.
• Strong background in experimentation and causal inference.
• Ability to influence senior stakeholders and operate with full autonomy.
• Hands-on analytical experience alongside leadership responsibilities.
• Proven experience leading and growing data analytics or data science teams.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
