📋 Description

• As the Director of Analytics & Data Science at Super.com, you will be instrumental in shaping the future of data-driven decision-making across our rapidly growing organization. This pivotal role involves leading and scaling our Analytics and Data Science functions, ensuring they serve as the connective tissue across our mission-aligned teams (MATs). Your leadership will establish shared standards, define our analytical strategy, and guarantee that our data initiatives consistently drive high-quality business outcomes.
• You will operate at the intersection of strategic vision and hands-on execution, partnering closely with Product, Engineering, and Executive leadership. Your primary objective will be to build robust, scalable analytics and intelligent systems that not only fuel growth but also effectively manage risk and significantly enhance the customer experience. This role demands a unique blend of strategic leadership, adept organizational design, and profound technical judgment to amplify our impact without compromising the speed and agility that define our success across multiple business lines.
• The Analytics & Data Science team is at the heart of Super.com's core value of being data-driven. We are not in the nascent stages of adopting data practices; instead, we are seasoned advocates and users of sophisticated tools like Snowflake, dbt, and Amplitude. Our environment is characterized by a high degree of technical maturity, with a daily cadence of new experiment launches. We are seeking passionate individuals who are eager to roll up their sleeves, construct intelligent systems, and actively shape business decisions through the power of data.
• A key responsibility will be to lead and scale the Analytics and Data Science organization. This includes the strategic hiring and development of both managers and individual contributors, as well as designing an optimal team structure that fosters deeper data science adoption throughout the business. You will be responsible for embedding analytics and data science capabilities into core business workflows, ensuring that insights, predictive models, and automated decisioning systems are consistently leveraged in product development, risk management, and growth strategies.
• Collaboration with Data Engineering will be crucial in shaping our Business Intelligence (BI) and data science platform architecture. You will influence decisions regarding data models, tooling, and workflows to ensure the development of reliable, scalable analytics and machine learning (ML) solutions. Your ability to translate complex business needs into actionable analytical and data science solutions will be paramount. You will work cross-functionally to ensure that these systems are not only effective but also reusable, well-governed, and aligned with overarching platform constraints.
• You will drive the successful delivery of complex, cross-functional data initiatives. This involves providing clarity and direction in ambiguous problem spaces, ensuring that the outcomes not only meet but exceed business and technical expectations. Furthermore, you will be tasked with setting and enforcing high technical and analytical standards across all analytics and data science endeavors. This includes raising the bar for modeling quality, ensuring seamless productionization of models, and promoting rigorous documentation practices through clear guidance and constructive review processes.

• You will be a key advisor to executive leadership, presenting complex findings in a clear, concise manner and translating data insights into strategic recommendations. This includes developing and maintaining dashboards, reports, and analytical frameworks that provide real-time visibility into business performance and identify opportunities for optimization and growth. Your work will directly influence product roadmaps, marketing strategies, and operational efficiencies.
• The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of the end-to-end data lifecycle, from data ingestion and transformation to model deployment and monitoring. Experience with cloud-based data warehousing solutions, ETL/ELT processes, and data governance principles will be essential. You will also play a role in evaluating and adopting new technologies and methodologies to keep our data science capabilities cutting-edge.
• Ultimately, your success in this role will be measured by the tangible business impact generated through data-driven insights and intelligent systems, the growth and development of the Analytics and Data Science team, and the establishment of a pervasive data-informed culture throughout Super.com.

🎯 Requirements

• 7+ years of experience in analytics, data science, or related fields, with a minimum of 3 years leading managers or senior individual contributors.
• Proven track record of partnering with executive and senior leadership to influence strategy and company-level decisions using data.
• Demonstrated ability to design, evolve, and scale analytics and data science organizations, including team structure, standards, and operating models.
• Strong technical foundation with experience working alongside data engineering on modern data platforms (e.g., Snowflake, dbt, Airflow, Looker), including fluency in SQL and Python.
• Sound architectural judgment with the ability to balance speed versus scalability and clearly articulate trade-offs to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Strong ownership mindset with the ability to prioritize competing initiatives and deliver results in ambiguous, fast-moving environments.
