- • The Director of Assessment and Accreditation drives the strategy and planning for assessment of academic program effectiveness and student learning in the School/College, serving as a critical point of contact between schools and university committees engaged with instructional research and academic assessment and accreditation.
- • Day-to-day responsibilities include providing strategic leadership for assessment planning, serving as a Subject Matter Technical Expert, directing quality control procedures for assessment data, managing annual assessment reports and program reviews, mentoring faculty on curriculum development and learning outcomes, communicating assessment results to stakeholders, coordinating use of assessment findings for continuous improvement, and supporting accreditation efforts including preparation of self-studies and Q/A reports.
- • The role involves collaboration with the Curriculum Director, faculty, non-faculty Subject Matter Experts, and Instructional Design teams to prepare new or revised program proposals, ensure quality control of curriculum templates with attention to diversity, equity and inclusion, develop grading rubrics and teaching guides, and facilitate governance approval processes for academic programs.
- • The position offers the opportunity to lead assessment initiatives across schools, influence accreditation standards, develop innovative assessment tools and processes, mentor faculty in assessment practices, and contribute to organizational success through measurable goals aligned with the university’s vision, mission, and strategic objectives.
🎯 Requirements
- • Master’s degree required in a related field or equivalent combination of education and experience; doctorate preferred.
- • 12+ years of experience with higher education academic assessment theory and practice.
- • Experience working in higher education, including graduate online education or various modalities for adult learners.
- • Experience using statistical analysis and assessment management systems.
- • Proficiency in research methods and design, strong interpersonal skills, and ability to communicate effectively with diverse constituencies.
- • Ability to work independently and foster cooperation in diverse teams while managing multiple deadlines and changing priorities.
