📋 Description

  • Meds.com, Inc. is at the forefront of revolutionizing healthcare through innovative technology solutions. As a rapidly expanding consumer technology firm, we are dedicated to enhancing patient lives through our suite of healthcare businesses, prominently featuring our flagship brand, BlueChew. Our success is driven by a dynamic team of 300 professionals spanning diverse specialties, who have collectively built robust, scalable pharmacy, telemedicine, and e-commerce platforms powered by cutting-edge technology. We are currently experiencing an accelerated growth trajectory, marked by the strategic launch of new products designed to broaden our patient base and further fuel our expansion. This is an exceptional opportunity to join a forward-thinking organization and contribute to tackling exciting challenges at the dynamic intersection of healthcare and technology.
  • We are seeking a highly proactive, seasoned, and strategically minded Director of Compliance to spearhead and fortify our regulatory framework. In this pivotal role, you will be instrumental in ensuring that our expanding product offerings and our ventures into new markets consistently meet and exceed the most stringent standards of safety, ethics, and legal compliance. Your oversight will encompass our sophisticated telehealth platform, our vital pharmacy partnerships, and our intricate prescription fulfillment processes, guaranteeing adherence to all applicable regulations.
  • As the primary liaison between our internal operational teams and external state and federal regulatory bodies, you will cultivate and maintain strong, collaborative relationships. This involves proactively engaging with regulators, responding to inquiries, managing audits, and staying ahead of evolving regulatory landscapes to ensure Meds.com remains not only compliant but also a leader in best practices.
  • Your responsibilities will extend to developing, implementing, and continuously refining comprehensive compliance programs. This includes creating and updating policies and procedures, conducting risk assessments, developing and delivering training programs for employees, and establishing robust monitoring and auditing mechanisms to identify and mitigate potential compliance issues before they arise.
  • You will play a critical role in advising senior leadership and cross-functional teams on all matters pertaining to regulatory compliance, interpreting complex legal and regulatory requirements, and translating them into actionable strategies and operational guidelines. This advisory capacity is crucial for informed decision-making and strategic planning as we navigate the complexities of the healthcare and technology sectors.
  • A key aspect of this role involves staying abreast of all relevant federal, state, and local laws and regulations impacting telemedicine, pharmacy operations, prescription drug distribution, and direct-to-consumer healthcare services. This includes, but is not limited to, HIPAA, FDA regulations, DEA requirements, state pharmacy board regulations, and FTC guidelines.
  • You will be responsible for managing and overseeing all aspects of regulatory filings, licensing, and registrations required for our operations and any new market entries. This includes ensuring timely submissions, accurate documentation, and proactive renewal processes.
  • Furthermore, you will lead investigations into any reported compliance concerns or violations, ensuring thoroughness, fairness, and timely resolution. This includes developing and managing a confidential reporting system and ensuring appropriate corrective actions are implemented.
  • Collaboration is key. You will work closely with legal counsel, operational leaders, product development teams, and IT to embed compliance considerations into the design and implementation of new products, services, and business processes from the outset.
  • This role demands a proactive approach to identifying emerging risks and opportunities within the regulatory environment. You will be expected to develop strategies to address these, ensuring Meds.com maintains a competitive advantage while upholding the highest ethical standards.
  • We are looking for an individual who is passionate about building and maintaining a strong compliance culture within a fast-paced, innovative environment. Your leadership will foster an understanding and commitment to compliance across the entire organization.
  • This position is based in our Austin, TX office. We highly value and encourage in-office collaboration and engagement, believing it fosters a stronger team dynamic and more effective problem-solving. We are seeking a candidate who not only tolerates but genuinely enjoys working within a collaborative office setting.

🎯 Requirements

  • Demonstrated experience in developing, implementing, and managing comprehensive compliance programs, including policy development, risk assessment, training, and auditing.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and strategic thinking skills, with the ability to interpret complex regulations and translate them into practical business solutions.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills, with the ability to effectively influence and collaborate with diverse stakeholders, including senior management, operational teams, and regulatory agencies.
