• • As a Director of Engineering at Vanta, you will be at the forefront of shaping and scaling our engineering organization, specifically focusing on empowering large, complex enterprises to effectively manage and grow their Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) programs. This pivotal role involves leading multiple engineering teams responsible for developing the core platform capabilities that are essential for multi-tenant management, program segmentation, sophisticated enterprise reporting, and the advanced tooling that our upmarket clientele relies upon to navigate their compliance and security operations at scale.
• • You will be instrumental in driving Vanta's strategic expansion into the upmarket segment by leading teams that build the foundational elements enabling holding companies, Managed Service Providers (MSPs), and other large enterprises to precisely scope, segment, and manage their GRC initiatives. This is a unique opportunity to influence the direction of Vanta's platform and contribute directly to its growth trajectory.
• • A key aspect of your role will be to foster a high-performing engineering culture. This includes not only delivering results consistently and sustainably but also maintaining an exceptionally high standard for execution and quality across all projects. You will be empowered to independently identify and implement strategies that deliver substantial value to both our customers and the business, with a particular emphasis on enhancing our enterprise platform capabilities.
• • You will be responsible for setting and executing the technical strategy, which may involve evolving our legacy codebase, building robust foundational primitives, and ensuring these align with the long-term product vision. This requires a deep understanding of technical architecture and the ability to guide teams through complex technical transformations.
• • Building and nurturing a best-in-class engineering team is paramount. This involves a proactive approach to hiring top talent, providing effective coaching and mentorship, and cultivating an environment where both individual engineers and engineering managers can achieve their full potential. You will actively shape the organization's talent development, identify and grow future leaders, and implement effective performance management strategies.

You will partner closely with Design, Product, and Go-To-Market (GTM) counterparts to co-create best-in-class platform capabilities and ensure their successful launch and adoption in the market. This cross-functional synergy is vital for delivering cohesive and impactful solutions.
• • You will drive critical architectural initiatives designed to support Vanta's ambitious upmarket growth. This includes making strategic decisions about system design, scalability, and maintainability to ensure our platform can meet the demands of our largest customers.
