- • As Director of Engineering at CoderPad, you will lead multiple North American and Latin America-based product engineering teams to shape the technical and organizational direction of a platform that empowers technical hiring worldwide, directly supporting CoderPad’s mission to create a more inclusive and equitable tech community by reducing bias in technical interviews.
- • You will report to the VP of Engineering, work East Coast hours from the United States, and oversee engineering teams across all US time zones, ensuring alignment with global goals while maintaining system health, engineering velocity, and high-quality software delivery.
- • Day to day, you will mentor and develop engineering managers, fostering their growth as technical and people leaders through regular one-on-ones, performance feedback, and career development planning.
- • You will partner closely with Product leadership to define and prioritize the product roadmap, translating business objectives into actionable engineering plans that balance innovation, reliability, and customer impact.
- • You will establish and refine engineering processes, standards, and best practices—including CI/CD, code review, testing strategies, and incident response—to improve system reliability, reduce technical debt, and increase team throughput.
- • You will drive cross-functional collaboration with Design, Data, Security, and Customer Success teams to ensure cohesive product development and seamless user experiences for both interviewers and candidates.
- • You will help scale organizational structures and hiring practices as the team grows, promoting inclusivity, psychological safety, and high performance across distributed teams in North America and Latin America.
- • You will advocate for engineering excellence by promoting a culture of continuous learning, blameless postmortems, and data-driven decision-making, using metrics to track velocity, quality, and team health.
- • You will represent engineering in executive forums, communicating technical trade-offs, risks, and opportunities to stakeholders and helping shape company-wide technology strategy.
- • In this role, you will have the opportunity to leave a lasting impact on a mission-driven product used by 4,000+ customers in 165+ countries, helping to democratize access to fair technical evaluation and empower underrepresented talent in tech.
- • You will grow as a strategic technology leader, gaining experience in scaling engineering organizations, aligning technical vision with business outcomes, and leading through influence in a fast-growing, purpose-driven startup environment.
🎯 Requirements
- • Proven experience leading multiple engineering teams or engineering managers in a fast-paced, product-driven technology company, preferably with exposure to distributed or global teams.
- • Strong technical background in software engineering, with hands-on experience in full-stack development, cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure), and modern web technologies (e.g., React, Node.js, Python, or similar).
- • Demonstrated ability to partner effectively with Product, Design, and other cross-functional leaders to define strategy, prioritize work, and deliver customer-centric solutions.
- • Experience mentoring and developing engineering managers, including coaching on leadership, performance management, and team building.
- • Track record of improving engineering velocity, system reliability, and process efficiency through the implementation of best practices in DevOps, Agile, and quality engineering.
- • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and influence decisions at the executive level.
🏖️ Benefits
- • Opportunity to lead engineering efforts for a mission-driven product used by thousands of companies globally to make technical hiring more fair, consistent, and inclusive.
- • Remote-first work environment with flexibility to work from anywhere in the United States while collaborating across North American and Latin American time zones.
- • Access to professional development resources, leadership coaching, and opportunities to grow into broader executive technology roles.
- • Comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance plans, plus 401(k) with company match.
