📋 Description

• Lead the engineering organization responsible for building and scaling Delinea’s AI security platform, focusing on discovering AI agents, assigning them identity, and controlling their actions at runtime.
• Own the end-to-end engineering roadmap for AI security, including agent discovery, posture assessment, identity and authorization systems, the AI gateway, and integrations with platforms like Microsoft Copilot and Salesforce Agentforce.
• Build and lead a multi-team engineering organization across the U.S. and Mexico, hiring and developing engineering managers, tech leads, and senior engineers.
• Serve as the single engineering owner accountable for delivery timelines and quality, partnering directly with the product leader for AI security to align engineering output with product vision.
• Set and enforce engineering standards, ways of working, and architectural principles to ensure consistency, security rigor, and scalability across the platform.
• Make critical technical decisions on identity and authorization foundations that underpin the entire AI security platform, ensuring alignment with Delinea’s shared platform services and avoiding duplication of discovery, identity, or enforcement mechanisms.
• Scale the AI security platform from early customer deployments to broad production use, meeting the reliability, correctness, and auditability requirements of a enterprise-grade security product.
• Partner closely with product, architecture, design, and field teams to validate features with early customers and incorporate real-world feedback into development cycles.
• Represent the AI security engineering organization to senior leadership and external customers, communicating technical strategy, progress, and risks.
• Ensure all engineering efforts leverage Delinea’s existing platform services for identity, access control, and enforcement rather than building redundant systems.
• Drive adoption of secure development practices and maintain high standards for code quality, testing, and observability across all AI security engineering teams.
• Foster a culture of innovation, ownership, and collaboration within the engineering team, aligned with Delinea’s core values of Spirited, Trust, Respect, Ownership, Nimble, and Global.
• Support the growth of engineering talent through mentorship, performance evaluations, and career development planning for engineers and engineering managers.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define success metrics for AI security features and ensure measurable outcomes are tracked and reported.
• Maintain awareness of evolving AI threat landscapes and incorporate emerging security patterns into the platform’s architecture and feature roadmap.
• Ensure compliance with enterprise security requirements and regulatory expectations in the design and deployment of AI security capabilities.
• Oversee the technical integration of AI security components with Delinea’s broader Identity Security Platform, ensuring seamless interoperability and unified governance.
• Drive continuous improvement in engineering velocity, system reliability, and operational efficiency while maintaining the platform’s 99.995% uptime standard.

🎯 Requirements

• 12 or more years in software engineering, with several years leading engineering teams, including leading other leaders or senior engineers
• Track record of building and scaling engineering organizations and delivering complex backend or platform products to production
• Strong technical depth in one or more of identity, authorization, cloud security, or distributed systems, sufficient to own architecture-level decisions
• Experience owning a product or platform area end to end in close partnership with product management
• Experience hiring, developing, and retaining engineers and managers
