  • • As the Director of Innovative Data Solutions at Novartis AG, you will be instrumental in shaping the future of data-driven transformation within a leading global healthcare company. This pivotal role, reporting to the US Chief Data Officer, is designed for a strategic leader who can drive high-impact initiatives, foster a culture of data literacy, and champion the adoption of advanced AI capabilities across the enterprise.
  • • Your primary focus will be on designing and executing comprehensive programs that elevate the organization's proficiency in artificial intelligence and data literacy. This includes developing and implementing tailored curricula for diverse business functions, ensuring that teams across the US Commercial organization are equipped with the knowledge and skills to leverage data effectively.
  • • You will collaborate closely with external vendors, the Insights & Decision Science (IDS) Academy, and various cross-functional stakeholders to scale these training and cultural programs. A key aspect of your role will be to measure the effectiveness of these initiatives through robust adoption metrics, competency assessments, and demonstrable business impact, ensuring continuous improvement and alignment with strategic goals.
  • • Beyond upskilling programs, you will lead and drive strategic data projects that directly support the US Chief Data Officer’s roadmap. This involves deep stakeholder engagement, evolving governance models, and spearheading innovation pilots that explore new frontiers in data utilization.
  • • You will act as a critical thought partner in defining the future direction of data strategy, with a particular emphasis on AI governance, data quality enhancement, and the modernization of data platforms. Your insights will be crucial in navigating the complex landscape of data management and utilization in a highly regulated industry.
  • • Representing the Data Strategy & Governance (DSG) function, you will actively participate in enterprise forums and working groups, including the US AI Functional Working Group. This ensures that DSG's perspective is integrated into broader organizational strategies and that alignment is maintained across various initiatives.

  • • This role offers the unique opportunity to work remotely from anywhere in the U.S., providing flexibility while demanding a high level of autonomy and strategic leadership. While remote, the role requires approximately 20% travel, domestically and/or internationally, to facilitate key collaborations and strategic engagements.
  • • You will be at the forefront of innovation, exploring how AI and advanced data analytics can unlock new opportunities in drug discovery, patient care, and operational efficiency. Your work will directly contribute to Novartis's mission of reimagining medicine to improve and extend people's lives.
  • • The Director of Innovative Data Solutions will be a key player in fostering a data-centric culture, empowering employees at all levels to make informed decisions, and ultimately driving significant business outcomes through the strategic application of data and AI.
  • • This position requires a proactive, results-oriented individual with a proven ability to lead complex, cross-functional initiatives in a dynamic environment. Your leadership will be essential in translating strategic vision into tangible results, ensuring Novartis remains at the cutting edge of data innovation.
  • • You will be expected to manage budgets, resources, and timelines effectively for your assigned projects and programs, ensuring successful delivery within scope and on schedule.
  • • The role involves continuous learning and staying abreast of the latest trends and technologies in AI, data science, and data governance to ensure Novartis maintains a competitive advantage.
  • • You will also be responsible for identifying and mitigating risks associated with data initiatives, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and internal policies.
  • • Ultimately, this role is about driving tangible business value through the strategic and innovative use of data, empowering the organization to make smarter, faster, and more impactful decisions.
