Full Job Description

📋 Description

  • As the Director of People at Rwazi Inc., you will be instrumental in shaping the very foundation of our distributed, AI-native, and execution-driven organization. This is a pivotal role where you will own the entire people system, encompassing organizational structure, performance architecture, talent density, cultural clarity, and internal operating discipline. Your primary mission is to design and implement robust systems that enable Rwazi to scale effectively without compromising on quality, speed, or accountability. You are the architect of the organizational infrastructure that underpins our relentless pursuit of execution excellence.
  • Your core mandate is to ensure the structural integrity of Rwazi. This involves meticulously designing our people operating model, a framework that will guide how we attract, develop, and retain top talent. You will be responsible for cultivating and maintaining high talent density across all our teams, ensuring that we have the right people in the right roles, performing at their peak. Embedding performance accountability systems is crucial; you will establish clear metrics, feedback loops, and reward structures that directly link individual and team contributions to organizational outcomes.
  • Furthermore, you will align our compensation and incentive strategies with measurable results, ensuring that our reward systems motivate and recognize exceptional performance. A significant aspect of your role will be scaling our unique culture without dilution. As we grow, maintaining the essence of what makes Rwazi special – our speed, clarity, and accountability – will be paramount. You will be the guardian of our organizational health, ensuring that our people systems foster a high-performing, cohesive, and adaptable workforce.
  • In terms of People System Architecture, you will define clear organizational design frameworks and reporting structures, ensuring that every team member understands their role and how it contributes to the larger mission. You will maintain strict discipline in role ownership, preventing ambiguity and fostering a sense of responsibility. Crucially, you will ensure that our hiring plans are strategically aligned with our capacity needs, anticipating future growth and skill requirements.
  • Regarding Talent Density & Performance Governance, you will oversee and refine our performance review frameworks, making them fair, effective, and development-oriented. Maintaining a consistently high bar for hiring and retention is non-negotiable; you will champion processes that attract and keep the best talent. Proactively identifying capability gaps within the organization and developing strategies to address them will be a key part of your role, ensuring we remain agile and equipped for future challenges.
  • For Compensation & Incentive Design, you will develop and implement pay structures that are directly tied to measurable output and strategic objectives. Building sophisticated variable compensation logic that rewards the achievement of key outcomes will be essential. You will also ensure fairness and internal equity across all compensation practices, fostering trust and motivation.
  • In the realm of Culture & Organizational Health, you will actively work to strengthen our culture of accountability, where individuals and teams take ownership of their results. Protecting the speed and clarity of our decision-making processes will be a priority, ensuring that bureaucracy does not impede our progress. You will maintain executive-level visibility into talent health, providing insights and recommendations to ensure our workforce remains engaged, productive, and aligned with our strategic goals.
  • The impact of your strong performance in this role will be tangible: high-output teams that consistently exceed expectations, clear ownership boundaries that eliminate confusion, significantly reduced performance drift, predictable and sustainable organizational scaling, and robust cultural cohesion that binds us together. This role is not about administrative HR tasks, nor is it solely focused on compliance oversight, nor is it about superficial 'culture-as-perks.' Instead, your focus is on building the fundamental, structural people systems that enable Rwazi to thrive and achieve its ambitious goals.

🎯 Requirements

  • Proven experience in designing and implementing organizational structures and people operating models, preferably in fast-paced, technology-driven environments.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and manage performance management systems, including frameworks for reviews, feedback, and accountability.
  • Strong understanding of compensation and incentive design principles, with a focus on aligning pay with measurable outcomes and driving performance.
  • Experience in scaling organizational culture and fostering a high-performance, accountable work environment.
  • Excellent strategic thinking, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Familiarity with talent management strategies, including high-bar hiring, retention, and capability gap analysis.

🏖️ Benefits

  • Opportunity to shape and scale a global, remote-first organization.
  • Competitive compensation package including performance-based incentives.
  • Flexible and remote work environment, allowing for global talent acquisition.
  • Direct impact on organizational structure, performance, and culture.
  • Collaborative and execution-focused work culture.
  • Professional development opportunities to grow within a rapidly expanding company.
