Full Job Description

📋 Description

  • This is a pivotal, founding role on Suno's newly established People Team, presenting a unique opportunity to architect and scale the People Business Partner (PBP) function from its inception.
  • You will be instrumental in defining what modern People Business Partnering looks like within an AI-native company operating at the cutting edge of entertainment and artificial intelligence.
  • This position reports directly to Suno's Head of People and will be an integral part of her Leadership Team, influencing the strategic direction of the organization.
  • We are seeking an individual who transcends the traditional HRBP mold, embodying the qualities of a systems thinker, operator, architect, and strategist.
  • You will view the People function not as a support service, but as a critical piece of core infrastructure essential for driving company performance and achieving ambitious goals.
  • Your philosophy will be that organizational design is akin to product design, that cultivating talent density is a fundamental strategy, that a well-defined compensation philosophy directly shapes company culture, and that robust employee relations, when executed effectively, is crucial for protecting operational velocity.
  • This role requires a commitment to working from Suno’s NYC or Cambridge offices five days a week, aligning with the company's established policy.
  • WHAT YOU’LL BUILD:
  • Design and scale Suno’s People Business Partner function from first principles, establishing a clear philosophy, an efficient operating model, the necessary tooling, and a robust management cadence to support a rapidly evolving, high-performance organization.
  • Partner collaboratively with the Suno leadership team to translate overarching business strategies into actionable organizational designs, comprehensive workforce plans, and strategic talent capability roadmaps.
  • Lead critical and high-stakes organizational design initiatives, focusing on optimizing team topologies, clarifying decision rights, refining span and layer structures, and guiding structural evolution to support growth.
  • Develop and implement scalable frameworks for meticulous headcount planning, ensuring absolute role clarity for all employees, and defining effective operating models that enhance productivity and collaboration.
  • Ensure that Suno's organizational structure is designed to accelerate, rather than impede, innovation at the dynamic intersection of artificial intelligence and the entertainment industry.
  • Design and operationalize Suno’s strategic approach to achieving and maintaining talent density, establishing robust succession planning processes, and fostering comprehensive leadership development programs.
  • Build and implement progressive performance management systems that are characterized by clarity, fairness, and a commitment to maintaining a high bar for excellence across the organization.
  • Provide expert coaching and guidance to senior leaders as they navigate critical inflection points of scale, manage team evolution, and address complex performance challenges.
  • Collaborate closely with leaders on the recruitment, onboarding, and development of senior talent, ensuring a strong leadership bench for future growth.
  • Drive meticulous headcount modeling and ensure alignment with budgetary constraints in close partnership with the Head of People, Finance, and Talent Acquisition teams.
  • Ensure that compensation structures and career growth pathways are strategically designed to reinforce high performance, encourage ownership, and promote fairness and equity throughout the company.
  • Integrate sophisticated people analytics into every facet of workforce decision-making, providing data-driven insights to inform strategic choices.
  • Establish a modern, principled, and high-integrity approach to employee relations, setting a new standard for how such matters are handled.
  • Lead complex investigations, manage challenging performance cases, and implement effective risk mitigation strategies with unwavering clarity and sound judgment.
  • Build proactive systems and processes designed to prevent potential issues from escalating, fostering a more positive and productive work environment.
  • Ensure comprehensive compliance with all relevant employment laws and regulations across various jurisdictions, while simultaneously safeguarding the company's speed, agility, and unique culture.
  • Actively integrate artificial intelligence into workforce analytics, scenario modeling, performance insights generation, and operational workflows to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Experiment with and leverage AI tools to amplify individual and team leverage, deepen the insights derived from data, and accelerate execution speed across People-related functions.
  • Develop comprehensive workforce and talent dashboards and predictive insights that provide actionable intelligence for executive decision-making.
  • Continuously evaluate and adapt to how automation and AI are reshaping organizational design principles and talent strategies.
  • Define clear and effective engagement cadences between People Business Partners and leadership teams to ensure seamless collaboration and strategic alignment.
  • Build and mentor a small, elite team of progressive People Business Partners over time, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
  • Set a new industry standard for what strategic People partnership truly entails, positioning Suno as a leader in innovative HR practices.
