Full Job Description

đź“‹ Description

  • • Own the end-to-end strategy, vision, KPIs, and quality bar for Babylist’s Registry experience — the core commercial and acquisition engine of the company.
  • • Lead a team of 3–4 Product Managers as a player-coach, coaching high-performing talent while actively contributing to product development.
  • • Define and execute a 6-, 12-, and 24-month product roadmap for Registry, balancing bold innovation with sustainable growth and customer trust.
  • • Drive commercial ownership by interpreting P&Ls, defending unit economics, and understanding monetization across both 1P and 3P channels without needing translation from finance or data teams.
  • • Set and enforce the quality bar for Registry, making hard tradeoffs between business goals and customer experience, including killing features and sending work back to the drawing board when necessary.
  • • Serve as the company’s primary authority on Registry, answering cross-functional questions and influencing company-wide strategy based on deep customer and commercial insights.
  • • Champion AI-native product development by actively using LLMs and AI coding tools in daily work to accelerate problem-solving, prototype development, and validation.
  • • Build and ship working prototypes yourself to test ideas with real families, set vision, and elevate the team’s capabilities — being fluent enough in the tech stack to self-serve when it’s the highest-value use of your time.
  • • Decompose complex problems for AI agents, review and refine AI-generated outputs, and combine AI speed with human judgment to drive faster, higher-impact outcomes.
  • • Establish AI-first workflows and rituals that raise the standard for the entire Product function, making AI usage an expectation, not an experiment.
  • • Translate deep customer expertise into segmentation clarity, solving root pain points rather than surface symptoms using both qualitative and quantitative evidence.
  • • Own end-to-end measurement for Registry, designing experiments from day one and leading clean persist/pivot/stop decisions based on evidence, not momentum.
  • • Communicate with extreme clarity to move conversations forward, encourage productive conflict, surface misalignment early, and avoid consensus-driven delays.
  • • Partner closely with engineering, design, finance, data, and marketing teams to align on priorities, remove friction, and accelerate delivery without sacrificing coherence.
  • • Contribute to the evolution of the Consumer Tech organization’s operating model, hiring bar, and craft standards as Babylist scales its product function.
  • • Shape Babylist’s broader company strategy by leveraging insights from Registry — the entry point for over 9 million families annually — to influence product direction across the ecosystem.
  • • Build a team culture that sets the bar for the broader Product function, creating growth paths, addressing performance issues quickly and kindly, and developing future leaders.
  • • Maintain a relentless focus on customer obsession, ensuring every decision compounds toward long-term trust and value for growing families.

🎯 Requirements

  • • Demonstrated experience as a Principal/Director, Sr. Director, or VP-level Product Manager owning complex consumer products end-to-end
  • • Proven ability to lead and develop a team of 3–4 Product Managers as a player-coach
  • • Deep fluency in commercial metrics, P&Ls, unit economics, and monetization across 1P and 3P channels
  • • Active, daily use of AI tools (LLMs, coding assistants) to accelerate product development and set team standards
  • • Strong technical fluency demonstrated through prior engineering experience, self-taught coding skills, or a portfolio of shipped products
  • • Ability to ship prototypes and contribute to code when it’s the highest-value use of time

🏖️ Benefits

  • • Company-paid medical, dental, and vision insurance
  • • Retirement savings plan with company matching and flexible spending accounts
  • • Generous paid parental leave and PTO
  • • Winter Wonder Week: company-wide paid week off at year-end
  • • Remote work stipend to set up your office
  • • Perks for physical, mental, and emotional health, parenting, childcare, and financial planning
