- • As the Director, Program Management – Strategic Initiatives at Bluehost, you will be instrumental in driving the company's strategic vision forward by owning the end-to-end delivery of critical, cross-functional initiatives. This pivotal role is designed for a seasoned leader who can translate high-level executive strategy into tangible, scalable, and actionable programs. You will be responsible for building and maturing a robust program management function, ensuring that Bluehost's ambitious goals are met with precision and efficiency. Your leadership will directly impact the growth and success of small businesses worldwide by enhancing the all-in-one platform that empowers them to thrive online.
- • In this dynamic role, you will spearhead large-scale, multi-quarter strategic programs that span across various organizational departments. Your day-to-day responsibilities will involve meticulously defining the scope of these programs, establishing clear milestones, identifying and managing dependencies, proactively assessing and mitigating risks, and defining key success metrics to ensure successful delivery. A significant part of your role will be dedicated to team leadership and development. You will manage, coach, and mentor a team of program managers, typically comprising 3–8 individuals, fostering their growth and ensuring high performance. This includes establishing clear goals, setting performance standards, and creating structured career development paths. You will also be tasked with building and scaling a consistent program management function, which involves defining and implementing methodologies, selecting and managing appropriate tools, and establishing best practices across the organization. Driving the hiring, onboarding, and continuous capability development for the Program Management Office (PMO) will be crucial, as will aligning resource allocation to support the highest-priority initiatives.
- • Furthermore, you will be responsible for the execution of the operating model, establishing and running essential program cadences such as Objectives and Key Results (OKRs), Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs), and executive review meetings. You will drive accountability across all cross-functional teams involved in these initiatives, escalating issues as needed to ensure progress. A core function of this role is strategic translation: taking executive-level strategy and transforming it into actionable roadmaps and detailed program plans. This requires close collaboration and alignment with Product, Engineering, Marketing, and Finance teams around shared priorities to ensure a unified approach. You will also own the financial and KPI aspects of these initiatives, meticulously tracking Return on Investment (ROI), costs, and the overall business impact. Partnering closely with the Finance department on forecasting, planning, and investment decisions will be a key responsibility. Effective stakeholder management is paramount; you will deliver clear, concise executive reporting and provide decision support to senior leaders. Influencing senior leaders and stakeholders without direct authority will be essential for driving alignment and progress.
- • Finally, you will proactively identify risks early in the program lifecycle and drive the implementation of mitigation strategies. Managing complex cross-program dependencies across different teams, platforms, and functions will be critical to preventing bottlenecks and ensuring smooth execution.
