📋 Description

• As Director of State Government Affairs for the Southeastern US, you will serve as the primary liaison between CSL Behring and state-level policymakers, advocating for policies that ensure patient access to life-saving therapies and support business operations across the region.
• You will develop and execute legislative and regulatory strategies, build relationships with state officials and patient advocacy groups, lead cross-functional initiatives, and represent CSL Behring in key policy forums to advance access to care and plasma donation policies.
• CSL Behring is a global biotherapeutics leader committed to saving and improving lives through innovative protein-based therapies, operating in over 35 countries with ~30,000 employees and a strong presence in immunology, hematology, and respiratory care.
• In this role, you will deepen your expertise in state government affairs within the life sciences sector, lead influential advocacy campaigns, and contribute directly to patient access and corporate strategy in a mission-driven organization.

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree required (advanced degree preferred) in public policy, government, political science or related field.
• 7+ years’ experience in government affairs or state government, with demonstrated knowledge of legislative and regulatory processes, particularly in the Southeast US region.
• Previous advocacy experience with pharmaceutical/biotech, trade associations, or patient advocacy organizations is highly desirable.
• Business acumen: understanding of the life sciences industry and how policies, trends, and practices affect it.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders, gaining trust and respect.
