- • Lead the strategy, architecture, development, integration, and scaling of advanced aircraft structures for the X-BAT autonomous aviation program, directly contributing to national security by protecting service members and civilians with intelligent systems.
- • Oversee multidisciplinary structural engineering teams responsible for metallic and composite primary structures, subsystem integration, manufacturability, structural analysis, and flight-worthy execution from prototype through production.
- • Drive cross-functional collaboration across aerospace engineering, robotics, and autonomy disciplines to rapidly move from concept to flight-ready systems in complex, contested environments where GPS and communications may be denied.
- • Build and scale high-performing engineering organizations while solving technically elite problems that impact the future of autonomous airpower at Shield AI.
- • Shield AI is a venture-backed deep-tech company founded in 2015 with a mission to protect service members and civilians through intelligent systems, producing the V-BAT and X-BAT aircraft, Hivemind Enterprise, and Hivemind Vision product lines, with global operations across the U.S., Europe, Middle East, and Asia-Pacific.

🎯 Requirements
- • Technically elite aerospace leadership experience with deep expertise in aircraft structures, including metallic and composite primary structures
- • Proven ability to build and scale high-performing multidisciplinary engineering organizations in fast-moving, high-stakes environments
- • Experience overseeing structural analysis, subsystem integration, manufacturability, and flight-worthy execution from prototype to production
- • Background in autonomous aviation, aerospace engineering, or robotics with familiarity in contested or GPS-denied operational environments
- • Strong cross-functional collaboration skills to work effectively across engineering, autonomy, and systems integration teams
