- • As a Documentation Engineer at Supabase, you will play a pivotal role in shaping how developers worldwide discover, learn, and build with the Supabase platform—transforming documentation from a reference tool into a core part of the product experience that empowers everyone from indie creators to enterprise engineering teams.
- • You will be responsible for elevating the Supabase documentation site into a best-in-class, intuitive, and performant resource by improving information architecture, enhancing navigation, optimizing search, and ensuring content is accurate, up-to-date, and accessible across all user levels and use cases.
- • Your day-to-day work will involve building and maintaining the documentation site using Next.js, managing content pipelines, and refining workflows to enable seamless contributions from both internal product teams and external open-source contributors.
- • You will actively engage with the open-source community through GitHub—responding to issues, reviewing pull requests, participating in discussions, and fostering collaboration to continuously improve documentation quality and contributor experience.
- • You will design and implement automation and CI/CD pipelines for documentation workflows, reducing manual effort, enabling preview deployments, running automated tests (e.g., link validation, linting, accessibility checks), and ensuring reliable, fast content delivery.
- • You will collaborate closely with product, engineering, and developer relations teams to align documentation with product releases, translate technical features into clear guides and tutorials, and ensure consistency across API references, conceptual docs, and interactive examples.
- • You will contribute to the evolution of Supabase’s Docs AI tools, exploring ways to enhance developer assistance through intelligent search, contextual help, and AI-powered documentation interactions.
- • You will help establish and advocate for documentation best practices, including style guides, contribution standards, versioning strategies, and accessibility compliance (e.g., WCAG), ensuring the docs remain inclusive and professional.

🎯 Requirements
- • Proven front-end development experience with the ability to build, maintain, and optimize a Next.js site, including familiarity with React, TypeScript, and modern JavaScript tooling.
- • Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines and automation for content or documentation workflows, such as using GitHub Actions, Vercel, or similar platforms to automate builds, testing, and deployments.
- • Demonstrated experience working on documentation sites, including understanding of information architecture, content modeling, and structuring technical information for diverse audiences.
- • Experience engaging with open-source communities via GitHub, including managing issues, reviewing pull requests, and facilitating discussions in a collaborative, respectful manner.
- • Experience with automated testing for documentation, such as link checking, linting (e.g., markdownlint), accessibility audits (e.g., axe), or visual regression testing.
