  • • The DRG Revenue Integrity Auditor performs Diagnostic Related Group (DRG) validation and quality audits on inpatient charts to ensure accurate coding and compliance with federal laws, capturing the patient’s true clinical picture.
  • • Day-to-day responsibilities include conducting chart reviews, validating ICD-10-CM/PCS codes, POA assignments, SOI, ROM, and HCC capture, analyzing records for query opportunities, ensuring proper code sequencing, and maintaining quality and productivity standards.
  • • The role involves supporting training initiatives, assisting with project data analysis and reporting, maintaining professional credentials through continuing education, and ensuring PHI confidentiality in adherence to ACDIS, AHIMA, and ethical coding standards.
  • • The auditor collaborates with internal teams and clients, communicates professionally, adapts to multiple clients and projects, and stays current with clinical criteria, MCG, InterQual, payer policies, CMS guidelines, NCDs, LCDs, and CDI best practices.
  • • This remote position requires a proactive, detail-oriented professional who can work independently, manage multiple files, and contribute to accurate training materials and client feedback while meeting production and quality metrics.

🎯 Requirements

  • • CCS certification required
  • • Five or more years of experience in an acute care setting or third-party vendor as a DRG Auditor or Clinical Documentation Specialist (CDS)
  • • Experience with telecommuting and electronic medical record systems
  • • Strong analytical skills and proficiency with MS Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, and similar work applications
  • • Ability to work with minimal supervision, manage multiple clients and projects, and maintain access to multiple files
