📋 Description
- • Conducts virtual risk control surveys of moderately sophisticated policyholders’ operations to assess exposures, identify hazards, and evaluate the adequacy of existing controls.
- • Provides consultative services to small and mid-size commercial policyholders using a business-focused approach to address operations, claim trends, and risk mitigation across all lines of coverage.
- • Identifies key loss exposures and recommends actionable solutions to eliminate or mitigate risks, or evaluates the effectiveness of current controls when elimination is not feasible.
- • Communicates risk findings and quantified deficiencies to Underwriting teams to inform risk selection, pricing, terms, conditions, and decision-making on complex accounts.
- • Consults directly with policyholders to understand their service needs and concerns, customizing risk control recommendations to align with insured objectives and reduce loss drivers.
- • Collaborates with other Risk Control team members and subject matter experts to resolve advanced technical questions and enhance service delivery.
- • Identifies policyholders requiring onsite evaluations and communicates findings to the appropriate Risk Control Manager for follow-up.
- • Provides updates to Underwriting, Sales, and Claims departments to improve renewal decisions, incorporating unique observations that impact risk assessment.
- • Markets risk control services in coordination with branch teams through agency visits, presentations at agency and association meetings, and other outreach activities.
- • Delivers detailed explanations of business operations, hazards, and control measures associated with insured coverages to policyholders and agents.
- • Conducts training sessions for current and prospective policyholders to enhance understanding of risk control practices and safety standards.
- • Identifies accounts that would benefit from ongoing routine service or focused short-term interventions to improve loss prevention outcomes.
- • Supports the development and implementation of innovative virtual tools and scalable resources to enhance client service delivery, particularly for small and mid-size accounts.
- • Builds and maintains positive, trust-based relationships with policyholders and insurance agents to strengthen client retention and satisfaction.
- • Performs other duties as assigned to support the overall objectives of the Risk Control function.
🎯 Requirements
- • Bachelor’s degree in safety, engineering, industrial safety, fire protection, or equivalent relevant experience
- • Three years of experience in risk control, safety, or related field
- • Prior experience conducting virtual risk control surveys
- • Certifications such as Certified Safety Professional (CSP) preferred
- • Advanced knowledge of industrial, construction, fire, and commercial automotive safety standards
- • Strong understanding of OSHA, DOT, and NFPA nationally recognized standards and codes
