- • Lead the design and execution of agentic and developer experience for Datum’s network cloud platform, ensuring seamless integration for AI agents and human builders without reliance on UI or human intervention.
- • Own the end-to-end developer experience from CLI to documentation, driving investment in declarative configs, APIs, and agent-parseable manifests while maximizing usability and minimizing friction for both humans and AI systems.
- • Build and lead a forward-deployed engineering function that works directly with AI-native providers, alt clouds, and partners on real production workloads, using hands-on experimentation to identify friction and feed insights back into product development.
- • Demonstrate engineering leadership by aligning roadmap with company values, translating customer and partner needs into clear priorities, making timely decisions, improving processes, and working openly to strengthen trust and adoption across regulated industries.
- • Champion Datum’s core values of being connectors and open by default, contributing to a culture of transparency, collaboration, and trust through public documentation, open-source contributions, and community engagement.
🎯 Requirements
- • Proven experience building systems that LLMs or autonomous agents must operate against, with deep understanding of what makes agent-tool interactions succeed or fail.
- • Strong background in Kubernetes, CLI/SDK design, declarative configuration, and API usability, with a track record of creating intuitive, well-typed interfaces for developers and agents.
- • Demonstrated ability to lead engineering initiatives in ambiguous environments, including defining roadmaps, making decisions without complete information, and improving processes through hands-on execution.
- • Experience contributing to or maintaining open-source projects, with a commitment to transparency, documentation as a first-class deliverable, and community-driven development.
- • Must overlap with NYC business hours and be willing to travel to NYC, SF, and other locations as needed for customer and partner engagement.
