đź“‹ Description
- • Valinor Capital Management LP is at the forefront of a new wave of defense and government technology companies, dedicated to tackling complex challenges that others overlook. Our innovative operational model, characterized by centralized go-to-market strategies and decentralized engineering, empowers us to identify unmet needs with exceptional speed, develop precisely tailored solutions, and ensure these critical products reach the hands of users swiftly and effectively. Unlike organizations that gravitate towards more visible or glamorous problems, Valinor is committed to addressing the often-unseen yet crucial issues – the subtle but significant challenges that, if left unaddressed, can create vulnerabilities in the nation's strength, stability, and security.
- • Backed by prominent investors including General Catalyst, Founders Fund, and Friends & Family Capital, Valinor was established in 2024 and has already forged strategic partnerships with industry leaders such as Palantir, Anduril, and Helsing. We are assembling a world-class team, and we are actively seeking talented individuals to join us in this mission.
- • **About the Role:** We are developing cutting-edge defense and aerospace technologies that demand absolute reliability in real-world field conditions, adherence to stringent compliance mandates, and seamless integration across both hardware and software components. To achieve this, we require a highly skilled individual capable of building and managing the internal systems that significantly enhance the efficiency of all our teams. You will be instrumental in identifying operational inefficiencies, whether they lie within hardware testing pipelines, supply chain management, deployment processes, or security protocols, and subsequently designing and implementing robust, long-term solutions. Your role will involve integrating hardware, software, cloud infrastructure, and artificial intelligence tooling into a unified internal platform that underpins the operations of all Valinor's product companies. You will collaborate closely with every subsidiary within our portfolio, working directly alongside their engineering and operations teams, and will be granted considerable autonomy to select the most appropriate tools and architect the most effective systems.
- • **What You'll Do:**
- • **Direct Field Engagement:** Embed yourself directly within the product companies across the Valinor ecosystem. You will not be operating remotely; instead, you will work side-by-side with engineering and operations teams at each subsidiary, gaining a deep understanding of their day-to-day workflows and developing solutions that are precisely tailored to their actual constraints and operational realities. Your contributions and their impact will be highly visible and direct.
- • **Infrastructure Development from Field Insights:** Translate your on-the-ground observations into enduring infrastructure. When you identify a process that is hindering progress or a gap that is slowing down a product team, you will take full ownership of the resolution from inception to completion. Your role involves not just recommending solutions but actively building and deploying them.
- • **Cross-Functional Integration:** Serve as the critical link between hardware, software, supply chain, and DevOps functions. You will often be the key individual who recognizes when adjacent problems are being addressed in isolation and will build the necessary integrations to ensure these disparate efforts work in concert. This holistic, cross-functional perspective is one of the most valuable assets you will bring to the team.
- • **End-to-End Internal Infrastructure Ownership:** Manage and maintain all internal infrastructure, including cloud environments (across Azure, AWS, GCP), edge deployments, and the pipelines that connect them. You will be responsible for the initial setup, ongoing operation, and continuous improvement of these systems.
- • **Internal Developer Platform Construction:** Develop and manage the internal developer platform, encompassing CI/CD pipelines, GitHub Actions workflows, artifact management solutions (such as JFrog), containerization technologies (Docker/Kubernetes), and other essential tooling designed to empower engineers to ship code faster and more securely.
- • **Hardware Test Pipeline and Logging Automation:** Design and implement systems for automating hardware test pipelines and data logging. This includes building robust mechanisms for capturing, storing, and surfacing data from hardware testing across both embedded and physical systems, ensuring test results are traceable and repeatable.
- • **Supply Chain and Inventory Workflow Integration:** Integrate procurement, parts tracking, and inventory management systems into the broader engineering and operations technology stack, preventing critical components from falling through the cracks.
- • **Continuous Security Automation:** Automate critical security processes such as STIG checks, FedRAMP control validation, vulnerability scanning, and compliance reporting, eliminating manual dependencies.
- • **AI Integration into Internal Workflows:** Identify high-impact opportunities to leverage Large Language Models (LLMs) and AI tooling to accelerate engineering, operations, and compliance tasks. You will be responsible for building and deploying these AI-powered tools internally.
- • **Government Accreditation Deployment Management:** Oversee the deployment process for software intended for government environments, ensuring strict adherence to IL5, FedRAMP, and STIG requirements at every stage of the deployment lifecycle.
