- • As an Engineer II in System Validation Test Automation at NETGEAR, you will play a critical role in ensuring the reliability, performance, and security of next-generation networking products including wireless access points, Pro routers, switches, and security devices. Your work directly contributes to delivering high-quality, innovative connectivity solutions that empower homes and businesses worldwide.
- • You will collaborate with senior engineers to design, execute, and automate comprehensive test scenarios that validate both functional and performance aspects of advanced wireless and wired networking technologies, helping maintain NETGEAR’s reputation for excellence in networking innovation.
- • Your day-to-day responsibilities will include designing and executing detailed test cases for switches, Pro routers, access points, and security devices, focusing on cutting-edge wireless features such as 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac/ax/be standards, roaming, band steering, DFS, and mesh networking technologies.
- • You will rigorously test and troubleshoot wireless security protocols including WPA2 and WPA3, evaluate firewall behaviors, validate VPN functionality, and assess access control mechanisms to ensure robust security across product lines.
- • You will validate interoperability between wired and wireless networks across Layer 2 and Layer 3 switches, routers, and end-user devices, ensuring seamless communication in complex network topologies.
- • Leveraging your programming skills, you will develop and maintain scalable automation test scripts using Python and Robot Framework, integrating them into continuous delivery pipelines to accelerate testing cycles and improve release quality.
- • You will work closely with senior QA and development engineers to debug issues, reproduce defects, and perform root cause analysis, using tools like Jira for defect tracking, Confluence for documentation, and Git/GitHub for version control.
- • Testing will be conducted in both simulated and real-world environments using actual hardware including switches, access points, client devices, and security gateways to ensure real-world applicability of test results.
- • As an active participant in Agile ceremonies, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams spanning embedded systems, cloud services, and QA to align on testing priorities, share insights, and drive continuous improvement in product quality.
- • You will contribute to a culture of quality by maintaining rigorous test documentation, improving test coverage, and advocating for best practices in test automation and networking validation.

🎯 Requirements
- • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electronics, Telecommunications, or a related technical field
- • 2-4 years of hands-on experience in QA/testing, networking, or a closely related domain
- • Proficiency in Python scripting and familiarity with Robot Framework for test automation
- • Solid understanding of wireless networking concepts including 802.11 standards (a/b/g/n/ac/ax/be), Wi-Fi security (WPA2, WPA3), and networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, VLANs, DHCP, NAT, DNS, L2/L3 switching/routing)
- • Experience with tools such as Jenkins, Jira, Git/GitHub, Confluence, and comfort working in Linux and Windows environments
- • Strong problem-solving skills, debugging ability, and log analysis capabilities, with foundational knowledge in data structures, algorithms, and OOP
