📋 Description

• As the Engineering Director for Core Compliance, Account at OKX, you will be at the forefront of shaping the future of digital asset services, leading a critical team responsible for the integrity, security, and scalability of our user account systems.
• This pivotal role demands a visionary leader who can navigate the complex and rapidly evolving landscape of cryptocurrency regulations, user security, and global market demands. You will be instrumental in building and scaling next-generation user-centric solutions that millions of users worldwide rely on for seamless and secure access to our platform.
• Your primary responsibility will be to lead the design, architecture, and implementation of high-performance, scalable, and user-friendly user account services. This involves guiding your engineering team through the entire development lifecycle, ensuring that all solutions not only meet but exceed stringent business objectives and user expectations.
• A significant aspect of this role involves overseeing the development and delivery of robust solutions that comply with diverse and ever-changing regulatory requirements across various global markets. You will foster close collaboration with our legal and compliance departments, proactively anticipating regulatory shifts and adapting our systems to maintain full compliance and market access.
• You will be the driving force behind the creation and enhancement of innovative security solutions designed to protect our users' accounts. This includes leveraging cutting-edge technologies in encryption, multi-factor authentication, advanced threat detection, and other security paradigms, while also setting the strategic direction for all security initiatives within the account domain.
• Fostering a collaborative environment is key. You will work closely with Product Management, Design, Marketing, and other cross-functional teams to accelerate innovation, ensuring that our user account services are not only secure and compliant but also intuitive and engaging.
• Mentoring and developing engineers will be a core part of your leadership. You will cultivate a culture of continuous learning, technical excellence, and high performance, empowering your team to tackle complex challenges and achieve ambitious goals.
• You will be responsible for developing and executing comprehensive engineering strategies. This includes strategic resource allocation, targeted talent development programs, and continuous process improvements aimed at enhancing team productivity, system reliability, and overall operational efficiency.
• Championing agile development methodologies and promoting best practices in software engineering are essential. You will ensure that the team's output consistently supports business growth, enhances user satisfaction, and maintains the highest standards of quality and stability.

🎯 Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in software engineering, with at least 5 years in a leadership role (e.g., Engineering Manager or Director) overseeing microservices/API development teams, preferably with Java/Spring Boot/Spring Cloud.
• Proven track record in leading teams through multi-threading, distributed architectures, and integration with mainstream middleware such as Kafka, Redis, ELK, etc.
• Strong experience with relational databases and a deep understanding of data structures, algorithms, design patterns, and scalable system design.
• Expertise in cloud-based Linux environments and a history of delivering high-impact projects in regulated industries (e.g., fintech, crypto).
• Demonstrated success in agile development processes, including TDD, CI/CD, and Scrum, with experience scaling teams and processes.
• Extensive experience leading distributed teams across offices and time zones, with strong skills in talent management, mentoring, and performance optimization.
• Knowledge in Spring Security and familiarity with security best practices in user account management is a plus.
• Fluent in English; Mandarin is a plus.
• Exceptional leadership and communication skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders, drive strategic initiatives, and foster innovation in a fast-paced environment.
