- • You will take ownership of key product domains, which could encompass our robust ERP, automation, and AI agent systems, or our dynamic CRM and customer-facing applications. This ownership extends to making fundamental architectural decisions, defining the long-term technical vision, and ensuring the scalability and reliability of our platform as we continue our rapid growth.
- • A core aspect of your role will be to lead and mentor a team of engineers. This involves actively participating in the hiring process, fostering professional development through coaching and continuous feedback, and ensuring the team's success. You will conduct thorough code reviews, engage in pair programming sessions, and provide clear, actionable technical guidance to elevate the skills and output of your team.
- • While leadership is paramount, you will remain hands-on, contributing directly to the codebase. This blend of hands-on coding and strategic leadership allows you to stay connected to the technical realities, understand the challenges your team faces, and directly influence the quality and direction of our software.
- • Collaboration is key to our success. You will work closely with Product Managers, Designers, and Operations teams to ensure that technical decisions are not made in a vacuum, but are tightly aligned with business goals, user needs, and operational realities. This cross-functional synergy is vital for delivering cohesive and impactful solutions.
- • You will be tasked with balancing innovation with pragmatism, making intelligent build-vs-buy decisions at the system level to optimize for speed, cost, and quality. This requires a deep understanding of available technologies and a strategic approach to leveraging external solutions where appropriate.
- • A significant opportunity within this role is the integration of Large Language Models (LLMs) and AI agents into our product workflows. You will identify and implement AI solutions that deliver tangible value to our users and internal processes, further enhancing the intelligence and efficiency of our operating system.
- • Driving operational excellence is a continuous pursuit. You will champion best practices in observability, reliability, and incident response, ensuring our systems are robust, performant, and resilient. This includes establishing monitoring, alerting, and effective troubleshooting processes.
- • Your technical contributions will be vital in building and scaling our AI-based Operating System, which manages the entire lifecycle of heat pumps and integrated energy systems. This includes sales, planning, installation, and ongoing operation, serving a diverse range of customers from single-family homes to multi-unit buildings, and powering our Energy Community as a Virtual Power Plant.
- • You will leverage our modern tech stack, which includes GoLang and Laravel for backend development, Python, PyTorch, and LLMs for machine learning, React, Tailwind, and Shadcn for frontend, and Flutter for mobile applications. You will also work with tools like Azure, GitHub, Linear, Notion, Kafka, Benthos for data pipelines, n8n/Kestra for workflow orchestration, and low-code process automation platforms.

🎯 Requirements
- • Minimum of 6 years of comprehensive software engineering experience, with at least 2 years in a technical leadership capacity within fast-paced, high-performance environments such as rapidly scaling startups.
- • Demonstrated track record of owning end-to-end software engineering responsibilities, from initial ideation and architectural design through to successful release and ongoing maintenance.
- • Strong foundational knowledge in relevant technical fields, such as Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a closely related discipline, coupled with exceptional system design and coding proficiency, ideally in GoLang or a comparable language. Experience with event-driven architectures and distributed systems is essential.
- • Fluency in English (C1 level or higher) is required, with a strong preference for German language skills at a B2 level or higher.
