- • Lead a team of software engineers to build and enhance Vonage’s high-performance SMS messaging platform, which operates on Kubernetes and Nomad in AWS.
- • Provide technical direction and mentorship to engineers, fostering the development of scalable microservices to support rapid business growth.
- • Collaborate with product managers and customers to translate business requirements into technical solutions and prioritize feature development.
- • Own the planning, scheduling, resource allocation, and cost estimation for engineering projects, ensuring timely and efficient delivery.
- • Ensure all software delivered meets rigorous standards for security, quality, test coverage, and scalability aligned with customer and business needs.
- • Assist in maintaining and prioritizing the product development backlog to align engineering output with strategic objectives.
- • Align team activities and deliverables with broader organizational goals and engineering roadmaps.
- • Champion the integration of AI-assisted engineering practices across the team, including use of AI tools for design, coding, testing, troubleshooting, and documentation.
- • Guide the team in adopting effective, evolving best practices for AI-enabled software development workflows.
- • Demonstrate strong leadership in ambiguous environments, making decisions that drive technical excellence and team cohesion.
- • Apply deep practical knowledge of high-performance, distributed computing systems to solve complex real-time data processing challenges.
- • Maintain a strong focus on comprehensive testing methodologies to ensure system reliability and resilience.
- • Communicate complex technical concepts clearly and concisely to diverse audiences, including non-technical stakeholders and cross-functional teams.
- • Drive continuous improvement in engineering processes and team performance through feedback, retrospectives, and process refinement.
- • Support the professional growth of team members through coaching, career development discussions, and performance feedback.
- • Ensure adherence to secure software development practices throughout the entire lifecycle of product releases.
- • Participate in cross-functional initiatives to integrate new features and enhancements into the existing messaging infrastructure.
- • Balance innovation in greenfield projects with the maintenance and optimization of legacy systems to ensure platform stability.
