• • As an Engineering Manager at Lexroom.ai, you will be the central point of accountability for your team, overseeing people management, delivery execution, and the overall technical health of your engineering squad. Your day-to-day responsibilities will encompass a broad spectrum of leadership activities designed to foster a high-performing and motivated team. This includes taking full ownership of your engineers' professional development, which involves actively participating in the hiring process to bring in top talent, providing consistent coaching and mentorship to foster growth, conducting regular performance reviews to ensure alignment and development, and implementing strategies to maximize engineer retention. You will be instrumental in driving predictable and efficient delivery by expertly forming squads, meticulously planning capacity, and establishing a consistent execution cadence that aligns with our product roadmap and business objectives. A critical aspect of your role will be to uphold and elevate the technical bar across your team. This involves developing and executing a strategic approach to managing technical debt, ensuring architectural coherence and consistency across different squads, and establishing and enforcing rigorous quality standards for all software developed. You will also be responsible for setting and enforcing comprehensive engineering standards, covering areas such as the quality of code reviews, the effectiveness and adoption of CI/CD practices, robust testing methodologies, and maintaining high levels of operational discipline. Furthermore, you will cultivate a team culture that actively encourages the free flow of feedback, empowering engineers to take genuine ownership of their work and the team's success. In close partnership with Product Managers, you will play a key role in shaping product priorities, contributing engineering-driven initiatives focused on enhancing technical debt reduction, improving system reliability, and driving overall platform improvements that benefit our users and the engineering organization.
• • You will report directly to the Engineering Director, who is currently our CTO, providing a direct line of communication and strategic alignment with senior leadership. Our team structure is designed around a squad model, where temporary, focused teams of 2-3 developers are formed around specific projects. These squads are empowered to deliver their objectives and then dissolve, allowing for flexibility and continuous adaptation. You will be responsible for the formation and composition of these squads, ensuring they have the right mix of skills and experience to succeed.
