📋 Description

• Lead an engineering team of five to seven engineers building a core part of the Smart Financial Platform, owning team health, standards, and delivery in a hands-on leadership role.
• Stay close to the code to earn trust and make technical calls through reviews, pairing, unblocking, and small fixes, while ensuring team output comes from collective effort.
• Report to the Head of Engineering and collaborate with a Product Manager to turn product commitments into shipped, high-quality work on sensible timelines.
• Own people growth through regular one-to-ones, performance management, hiring and onboarding, team health, technical excellence, and delivery accountability.
• Contribute to modernizing global finance by building software that replaces legacy ERPs with automated accounting, real-time reporting, and agile financial flows.
• Join an early-stage team defining a new software category, backed by world-class investors and advised by industry leaders, with a mission to make Light the global default for next-gen finance.

🎯 Requirements

• Experience managing a team of engineers, including full responsibility for growth, feedback, performance, and hiring.
• Strong engineering background enabling independent evaluation of team work, design review, PR feedback, and technical decision-making with senior engineers.
• Proven track record of shipping, including breaking down ambiguous work and maintaining delivery momentum for a team.
• Genuinely AI-native: experience adapting team workflows due to AI tooling and judgment about its effective application.
• Clear, direct communication skills for giving feedback, escalating early, and representing the team honestly upward and downward.
