• • As an Engineering Manager at Mochi Health, you will play a pivotal role in scaling and aligning our high-performing engineering organization. We pride ourselves on a culture of high talent density, where a focused and pragmatic team drives a successful, nine-figure ARR healthcare platform that serves hundreds of thousands of patients. Your leadership will be instrumental in nurturing our ambitious, early-career engineers and integrating new Senior and Staff-level talent to build the next generation of our clinical systems.
• • This role requires a deeply technical leader who is a collaborative partner, excelling in mentoring junior developers, recruiting top-tier senior talent, fostering a culture of high technical craft, and working closely with clinical leadership to co-design solutions for complex healthcare challenges. You will be a hands-on technical leader, taking immense pride in your team's growth and development. While not directly on the critical path for daily feature delivery, you will actively engage with the codebase, review Pull Requests, pair with junior engineers to overcome obstacles, and spearhead the recruitment of exceptional Senior and Staff engineers to elevate the team's overall technical capabilities.
• • A key aspect of your role will be to drive alignment and velocity within the team. You will manage a group with a diverse range of experience levels, providing crystal-clear business context and ensuring that all technical efforts are perfectly aligned with the product roadmap. Proactively identifying and removing organizational roadblocks will be crucial to maintaining a relentless pace of shipping impactful features and improvements.
• • You will be deeply integrated with our clinical and operational teams, acting as a collaborative translation layer. Your responsibility will be to distill complex medical realities and intricate regulatory workflows into clear, pragmatic technical roadmaps for your team. This requires a strong understanding of both technical possibilities and the unique demands of the healthcare domain.
• • Mochi Health operates as an AI-first engineering organization, where developers leverage cutting-edge agentic models like Codex 5.3 and Claude Opus 4.6 daily. You will be responsible for managing the inherent risks of this high-speed environment. This includes ensuring that AI-assisted output is rigorously audited for edge cases, performance bottlenecks, and strict HIPAA compliance, thereby maintaining a high standard of quality and security in the systems we build.

• • This role is based in San Francisco, CA, requiring a 5-day-a-week onsite presence. You will be instrumental in building and leading your team from within our office, fostering a collaborative and innovative in-person environment. We believe that face-to-face interaction is key to building a culture of excellence and delivering the best possible outcomes for the patients and providers we serve.
