- • As an Engineering Manager at FloSports, you will lead and grow a high-performing team of fullstack and backend software engineers, driving the strategic vision of applications that power world-class digital streaming for underserved sports communities, directly impacting how millions of fans engage with niche sports content through live events, analytics, and broadcast technology.
- • You will manage the performance, development, and engagement of 4-6 direct reports, overseeing hiring, onboarding, performance management, and career growth while ensuring the team ships high-quality full stack web applications, features, and services that support the MileSplit product experience.
- • You will drive execution by organizing team work, setting clear goals, monitoring progress, identifying and removing bottlenecks, and holding the team accountable for delivering on commitments, all while collaborating closely with Product Owners, designers, and QA on planning, sizing, and technical design of features.
- • You will act as a technical partner in product decisions, participating in code reviews, architectural discussions, and ensuring healthy on-call escalations and incident management, while staying current with industry advances to improve team efficiency, quality, reliability, performance, and scalability.
- • You will foster a culture of growth, openness, inclusion, diversity, ownership, and autonomy by collaborating with other Engineering Leaders to drive department-wide accountability and performance, while advocating for developers to own system reliability and outcomes as true product partners.
- • You will contribute to FloSports’ mission of elevating underrepresented sports by building technology that serves passionate communities, working within a diverse team of technologists, athletes, creators, and fans united by a shared purpose to innovate in sports media.
🎯 Requirements
- • 4+ years of hands-on software engineering experience with both front-end and back-end focus
- • 2+ years of management or team leadership experience in a software development role
- • Proven experience leading a team of software engineers, including hiring, performance management, skill development, and career growth
- • Demonstrated ability to improve team effectiveness through process improvements and key performance metrics
- • Proficiency in front-end (TypeScript, HTML/CSS/JS) and back-end (PHP, MySQL, Redis) technologies, including RESTful API design with JSON and CRUD operations
- • Experience with CI/CD processes, containerization (Docker preferred), and cloud platforms (AWS EC2, S3, SNS, SQS)
