📋 Description

• As an Engineering Manager at Thrill Labs, you will lead and mentor a fast-growing engineering team responsible for building the world’s most epic gaming brand through Thrill.com, a groundbreaking crypto gaming venture set to launch soon. Your leadership will be instrumental in shaping the technical direction, culture, and delivery excellence of a high-impact team working on innovative, scalable solutions that redefine the future of gaming.
• You will drive technical excellence by establishing and upholding high coding and performance standards, guiding engineers in best practices, and ensuring the team delivers robust, distributed systems that support the company’s ambitious vision. Your role combines hands-on technical contribution with strategic leadership, enabling you to stay close to the code while empowering your team to grow and succeed.
• Day to day, you will lead and mentor engineers by providing direction, support, and professional growth opportunities, fostering a culture of continuous learning and accountability. You will drive technical excellence by setting and maintaining high standards for code quality, performance, and system design, encouraging adoption of best practices across the team.
• You will collaborate closely with product, design, and business stakeholders to shape technical solutions that align with business goals, translating requirements into feasible, scalable architectures. You will optimize development processes by implementing efficient CI/CD pipelines, DevOps practices, and agile methodologies to maximize productivity, quality, and release velocity.
• You will troubleshoot complex technical and operational challenges swiftly, acting as a escalation point for critical issues to ensure minimal disruption to product delivery and maintain system reliability. You will also contribute hands-on to codebases when needed, particularly in Java or frontend technologies (React, Angular, Svelte), to maintain technical credibility and support team velocity.

🎯 Requirements

• 8+ years of software engineering experience, with at least 3 years in a team management or engineering leadership role.
• Proven hands-on technical ability, including recent coding experience in Java or one of the frontend technologies (React, Angular, Svelte).
• Solid experience with backend technologies such as Java, Postgres, Kafka, and Redis, or frontend stacks including React, Angular, and Svelte.
• Practical experience with AWS cloud infrastructure and services.
• Experience designing and implementing CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices to support automated testing, deployment, and monitoring.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Ability to set and achieve strategic goals, adapt to changing priorities, and lead teams through ambiguity in a fast-moving environment.
• English proficiency at C1 level or equivalent, both written and spoken.
