- • Lead engineering teams at Speak AI, a fast-growing AI-powered language learning app backed by top investors, to drive innovation in real-time voice AI, LLM orchestration, and scalable inference infrastructure.
- • Manage and mentor engineers while contributing technically through coding, bug fixes, and improving agent environments using AI coding tools.
- • Champion the company’s agentic engineering transformation by identifying manual processes, removing bottlenecks, and fostering autonomous, high-quality AI-assisted development.
- • Collaborate with product, design, and cross-functional teams to deliver high-impact features that help millions of learners speak new languages confidently.
- • Build and sustain a high-performance, inclusive team culture grounded in technical excellence, ownership, and continuous learning.
- • Work in-person in San Francisco 3–4 days per week to collaborate closely with a distributed global team spanning Seoul, Tokyo, Taipei, and Ljubljana.
- • Make a meaningful impact by helping democratize language learning through cutting-edge AI technology.
🎯 Requirements
- • 8+ years of individual contributor software engineering experience on high-performance, fast-paced teams
- • 4+ years of direct people management experience leading engineering teams
- • Strong background in backend systems, platform/infrastructure, or performance engineering
- • Proven ability to drive engineering velocity while maintaining a high bar for code quality and technical excellence
- • Comfortable and enthusiastic about using AI coding agents to contribute technically and lead by example
- • Strong conviction that 10x engineering outcomes are achievable through agentic tools and modern practices
