- • As an Engineering Manager at Chromatic Software Inc., you will lead a full-stack feature team responsible for building customer-facing capabilities that ensure front-end applications are regression-free and accessible, directly impacting the user experience for millions of users worldwide through tools like Storybook and Chromatic used by industry leaders such as BBC, Shopify, and Adobe.
- • You will drive the delivery of high-impact features including accessibility regression testing, dashboard enhancements for component-level issue tracking, workflows for inconsistent UI rendering, and enterprise account management, all while fostering a culture of thoughtful execution, psychological safety, and continuous improvement in a fully remote, distributed environment.
- • You will join a mission-driven engineering organization that values simplicity, delight, and technical excellence, where diverse, curious engineers collaborate across time zones to solve complex front-end challenges and ship reliable, high-quality tools that prevent bugs from reaching end users.
- • You will mentor and grow a team of 6–10 engineers, establish effective onboarding practices, remove blockers, and support career development while collaborating cross-functionally with product, design, and other engineering leaders to prioritize and execute strategic initiatives.
- • You will help evolve Chromatic’s engineering culture and processes by participating in engineering leadership discussions, advocating for best practices in asynchronous communication, and ensuring alignment between team output and company objectives in a rapidly scaling, remote-first organization.
- • You will have the opportunity to deepen your expertise in developer tooling, front-end infrastructure, and scalable React/GraphQL/TypeScript systems while shaping the future of UI testing and review workflows used by thousands of development teams globally.
🎯 Requirements
- • 3+ years of professional experience managing a software engineering team
- • Strong written and verbal communication skills suited for distributed, asynchronous work environments
- • Proven ability to lead with empathy, emotional intelligence, and a growth mindset across diverse, geographically dispersed teams
