- • Lead a team of software engineers responsible for developing and maintaining TeamSnap’s sports and communication platform, ensuring high-quality delivery of features that enhance youth sports experiences.
- • Define engineering roadmaps aligned with product goals, prioritizing initiatives that reduce administrative burden for coaches, parents, and athletes using the platform.
- • Conduct regular one-on-one meetings with engineering team members to support career growth, provide feedback, and foster a culture of psychological safety and continuous improvement.
- • Collaborate closely with product managers, designers, and stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical specifications and actionable development tasks.
- • Oversee code quality, architectural integrity, and scalability of systems, ensuring adherence to best practices in software development and DevOps workflows.
- • Mentor junior and mid-level engineers through code reviews, technical guidance, and knowledge sharing to build a high-performing, self-sufficient engineering team.
- • Manage sprint planning, backlog grooming, and agile ceremonies to maintain predictable delivery cycles while adapting to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- • Advocate for engineering best practices including automated testing, CI/CD pipelines, observability, and documentation standards across all team projects.
- • Partner with HR and talent acquisition to recruit, onboard, and retain top engineering talent in a fully remote-first organization.
- • Monitor team health and productivity metrics, identifying bottlenecks and implementing process improvements to enhance efficiency and morale.
- • Represent the engineering team in cross-functional leadership meetings, communicating progress, risks, and resource needs to executive leadership.
- • Promote a culture of ownership, innovation, and tiny egos, encouraging engineers to propose and lead initiatives that improve the product and team dynamics.
- • Ensure compliance with security and data privacy standards across all engineering activities, particularly as they relate to handling sensitive youth sports data.
- • Support incident response and post-mortem processes for production issues, driving root cause analysis and preventive measures to reduce recurrence.
- • Balance strategic technical debt reduction with feature delivery, making informed trade-offs that align with long-term platform sustainability and user satisfaction.

- • Proven experience managing a team of software engineers in a remote or distributed environment
- • Strong technical background in software development, with hands-on experience in modern web technologies and architectures
- • Demonstrated ability to lead agile teams and deliver complex software products on schedule
- • Experience mentoring engineers and fostering inclusive, high-trust team cultures
- • Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders
