- • As an Engineering Manager at Tide, you will be a pivotal leader responsible for the engineering delivery of our critical subscriptions platform across multiple international markets. This role demands a blend of strong technical acumen and exceptional people leadership skills, with a proven ability to operate effectively at scale and drive significant impact through the design and implementation of robust platforms.
- • You will own the technical direction and execution of systems that underpin the entire subscription lifecycle, from initial creation and dynamic pricing strategies to ongoing management and evolution. Your primary focus will be on architecting and building scalable, resilient, and extensible platform capabilities that not only support current business operations but also anticipate and accommodate future growth and evolving market needs.
- • A core aspect of your role will involve managing, mentoring, and developing a talented team of engineers. You will be instrumental in setting clear technical standards, fostering a culture of deep ownership, accountability, and continuous improvement. By forging strong partnerships with Product Management and stakeholders across various business functions, you will translate product strategy into reliable, high-quality platform solutions, ensuring seamless and efficient delivery throughout the full subscription journey.
- • You will be an integral part of the Member Engagement Marketing (MEM) engineering group, collaborating closely with teams responsible for Billing, Payments, Marketing, Data, and Finance. This cross-functional collaboration is essential for delivering a transparent, robust, and high-performing subscriptions platform that enhances member experiences and drives long-term business value.
- • Your responsibilities will include guiding the team through the complexities of building and maintaining microservices, ensuring the implementation and consumption of RESTful APIs are efficient and well-documented. You will champion the adoption of cloud-native best practices, engineering solutions that are inherently scalable and reliable within a cloud environment.
- • A strong emphasis will be placed on delivering secure, thoroughly tested, and well-documented software. You will foster an environment where engineers take full ownership of their code and technical solutions across their entire lifecycle, from initial development through to production deployment and ongoing maintenance.
- • You will leverage your experience in integrating with various third-party providers and partners to ensure our platform is seamlessly connected and capable of supporting diverse business needs. A deep understanding of relational databases and their application in scalable systems will be crucial.
- • Working within an agile framework, you will guide your team to consistently deliver value and adapt quickly to changing requirements. Your ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly and concisely to non-technical audiences will be vital for stakeholder alignment and project success.
- • You will promote and implement continuous integration, delivery, and deployment (CI/CD) practices to ensure software is delivered reliably and efficiently to production. As a hands-on technical leader, you will remain deeply involved in the day-to-day technical details of your team's work, providing guidance and support.
