📋 Description

• As an Engineering Manager at ClickUp, you will lead a fullstack engineering team responsible for building and scaling the core APIs and user experiences that power ClickUp’s converged AI workspace, directly impacting how millions of teams collaborate, manage tasks, and reclaim productivity in an increasingly fragmented work environment.
• You will provide hands-on technical leadership while mentoring and growing a high-performing team of engineers, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and technical excellence that aligns with ClickUp’s mission to architect the future of work through AI-driven productivity tools.
• Your day-to-day responsibilities will include guiding engineers across the full stack—from frontend interfaces built with modern frameworks to backend systems powered by Node.js and AWS—ensuring best practices in software architecture, design, and delivery.
• You will drive the development of new features and enhancements, focusing on high performance, scalability, and reliability, while proactively addressing technical debt and optimizing system architecture to support ClickUp’s rapid growth and evolving product demands.
• Close collaboration with product managers, designers, and cross-functional engineering teams will be essential to align on goals, prioritize initiatives, and deliver seamless, intuitive user experiences that leverage context-driven AI to unify tasks, docs, chat, calendar, and enterprise search.
• You will oversee code reviews, enforce coding standards, and advocate for clean, maintainable, and testable code, while staying current with emerging trends in collaborative editing, cloud infrastructure, and web development to continuously improve the platform’s capabilities.
• Ensuring operational excellence will be a key focus, as you monitor and improve the stability, performance, and resilience of the Tasks platform and related services, using data-driven insights to make informed decisions that enhance user experience and system reliability.

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent industry experience
• 7+ years of software engineering experience, with at least 2 years in a technical leadership or engineering management role
• Proficiency in modern programming languages (Node.js preferred), relational databases, and at least one modern frontend framework (e.g., React, Vue, or Angular)
• Hands-on experience with AWS cloud services and infrastructure, including deployment, scaling, and optimization
• Proven ability to manage, mentor, and scale engineering teams while fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement
• Strong problem-solving skills with a track record of tackling complex technical challenges and making data-driven decisions
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, capable of articulating technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
