- • As an Engineering Manager at Counterpart Health, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of healthcare technology by leading and developing high-performing engineering teams. You will operate in a player/coach capacity, blending hands-on technical leadership with the crucial responsibilities of people management and strategic execution. Your primary mission will be to foster an environment where engineers can thrive, take ownership of complex challenges, and deliver impactful results that directly contribute to improving patient care and physician workflows.
- • You will be instrumental in driving team impact by cultivating high technical productivity, ensuring system reliability, and championing a culture of continuous improvement. This involves not only guiding technical decisions but also nurturing a healthy, results-driven, and collaborative team dynamic that encourages innovation and mutual support.
- • A key aspect of your role will be representing your team within broader engineering-wide planning, initiatives, and processes. This requires effective communication and collaboration to ensure alignment with company-wide technical strategies and objectives.
- • You will forge strong partnerships with Product Managers and Designers to collaboratively shape the technical roadmap. This involves translating business needs and user insights into actionable technical plans, and working together to solve complex problems that enhance both the patient and doctor experience with our innovative primary care tool, Counterpart Assistant.
- • Setting and clearly communicating team objectives will be paramount. These objectives must be tightly aligned with Counterpart's overarching company goals and strategic roadmap, ensuring that the team's efforts are focused on the most critical priorities.

This includes overseeing code reviews, architectural discussions, and ensuring the delivery of robust, scalable, and maintainable solutions.
- • Your leadership will extend to fostering a culture of psychological safety, where team members feel empowered to voice concerns, share ideas, and take calculated risks without fear of reprisal. This is essential for innovation and problem-solving.
- • You will actively mentor and coach engineers, helping them develop their technical skills, leadership potential, and career aspirations. This includes providing regular constructive feedback, identifying growth opportunities, and supporting their journey towards becoming future leaders.
- • You will contribute to the overall engineering strategy and best practices within the organization, sharing knowledge and insights to elevate the capabilities of the entire engineering department.
- • The role demands a proactive approach to identifying and mitigating technical risks, ensuring project timelines are met, and that deliverables meet the highest quality standards. You will be a key point of contact for resolving technical impediments and ensuring smooth project execution.
- • You will champion a data-driven approach to decision-making, encouraging the team to leverage metrics and insights to inform technical choices and measure the impact of their work.
- • Ultimately, your success will be measured by the team's ability to consistently deliver high-quality software, foster a positive and productive work environment, and contribute significantly to Counterpart Health's mission of transforming healthcare.
