• • As an Engineering Manager at Runware Inc., you will be at the forefront of shaping and scaling our core engineering capabilities. This is a pivotal, hands-on leadership role that demands a unique blend of people management acumen, strategic delivery oversight, and deep technical engagement. You will be instrumental in fostering a high-performing engineering culture, ensuring the consistent and predictable delivery of complex projects, and upholding the highest standards of engineering quality. Your leadership will directly impact the scalability and reliability of Runware’s platform as we continue our rapid growth.
• • Your primary responsibility will be to lead, mentor, and cultivate a team of talented engineers within a dynamic, fast-scaling environment. This involves creating and nurturing a culture that champions ownership, accountability, and a commitment to continuous improvement. You will be a key figure in supporting the professional development of each team member through regular one-on-one meetings, constructive feedback, and targeted coaching. Furthermore, you will play an active role in the entire talent lifecycle, including recruitment, onboarding, and performance management, ensuring we attract and retain top engineering talent.
• • On the delivery front, you will own the end-to-end execution of your team's work, encompassing meticulous planning, strategic prioritization, and the successful delivery of engineering initiatives. A critical aspect of this role is ensuring that projects are not only completed on time but also meet stringent quality benchmarks and have clear lines of ownership. You will be adept at identifying potential risks early in the development cycle and proactively implementing solutions to remove impediments. A pragmatic approach to balancing the demands of speed, system reliability, and the management of technical debt will be essential for sustainable progress.
• • You will also serve as a crucial technical sounding board, providing expert guidance on system design, architectural decisions, and the evaluation of critical trade-offs. Your oversight will ensure that our backend systems are architected for scalability, robustness, and optimal performance. Promoting and embedding best practices across the team, including rigorous code quality standards, comprehensive testing strategies, robust observability, and stringent security measures, will be a core part of your mandate. This technical leadership extends to close collaboration with other engineering leaders and teams to ensure alignment on technical direction and strategy.
• • Cross-functional collaboration is paramount. You will work hand-in-hand with Product, DevOps, ML, and other engineering teams to foster strong alignment and ensure that our technical efforts are seamlessly integrated with broader business and product objectives. A key part of your role will be translating high-level business and product goals into actionable, clear engineering execution plans. Effective and proactive communication, especially within our fully remote environment, will be vital for maintaining team cohesion and driving progress.
