• • As an Engineering Manager, your primary responsibility will be to lead a dedicated pod of developers. This pod will be strategically aligned with a specific user persona, such as employees or employers, or a key growth segment like Annual Contract Value (ACV) or Lifetime Value (LTV). This focused approach ensures that your team's efforts are concentrated on delivering maximum impact within defined areas.
• • You will be responsible for the holistic management of your team, including conducting regular bi-weekly one-on-one meetings to foster open communication and professional development. You will also review weekly updates to track progress and identify potential roadblocks, proactively resolve team issues, and escalate them when necessary. Furthermore, you will manage time-off planning to ensure consistent team coverage and operational continuity.
• • A core function of your role will be to orchestrate and lead all agile ceremonies. This includes daily stand-ups, sprint planning sessions, retrospectives, and backlog refinement meetings. Your leadership will drive strong team collaboration, ensuring that all members are aligned, engaged, and working efficiently towards shared goals.
• • You will act as a crucial bridge between the product vision and technical execution. This involves partnering closely with Product Managers and other cross-functional stakeholders to meticulously translate product requirements into scalable, secure, and high-performing technical solutions. Your ability to understand and articulate business needs in technical terms will be paramount.
• • Collaboration with other technical leads will be essential for architecting new features and enhancements. You will also play a vital role in mentoring junior and senior developers, guiding their technical growth, and advocating for the strategic resolution of technical debt. This advocacy will be supported by clear, data-backed rationale, ensuring that technical investments align with long-term product health and business objectives.
• • Ensuring the quality and timely delivery of software is a key performance indicator. You will coordinate the Quality Assurance (QA) process, implement best practices to guarantee high-quality delivery, and establish meaningful, data-driven Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) using tools like Metabase. These KPIs will be used to rigorously track the team's impact against critical company priorities, providing clear visibility into progress and success.
• • The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of modern software development principles and practices. This includes a strong grounding in SOLID principles, domain-driven design, writing performant code and database queries, and implementing robust unit and integration testing strategies. You should be comfortable with a full-stack ownership mindset, encompassing backend development, frontend implementation, comprehensive testing, product demonstrations, and final delivery.
• • You will be adept at moving quickly when experimenting with new ideas and technologies, while also possessing the discipline to build clean, scalable, and maintainable solutions once a Minimum Viable Product (MVP) evolves into a core feature. Familiarity with modern development tooling such as Git, GitHub, and Jira, along with your preferred code editor, is expected.
