- • Lead the Ledger & Reconciliation Platform team to ensure every dollar moving through Dave is correct, fully accounted for, and auditable end-to-end, serving as the financial source of truth for all products.
- • Define and evolve system architecture prioritizing correctness, idempotency, and auditability, including double-entry ledger models, transaction lifecycles, and reconciliation workflows across products.
- • Partner closely with Accounting and Finance to translate real-world financial requirements into deterministic systems, encoding financial rules, reporting requirements, and controls directly into engineering design.
- • Build and develop a high-performing team focused on data integrity, observability, and reliable recovery, shaping engineering practices that support regulatory compliance and member trust.
- • Drive impact by owning the integrity of Dave’s financial systems, ensuring every transaction can be trusted, explained, and audited amid rapid product growth and regulatory scrutiny.
- • Operate in a virtual-first, mission-driven culture that values transparency, persistence, and collaboration, with autonomy to shape both technology and team direction.
🎯 Requirements
- • 6+ years of software engineering experience
- • 1.5+ years of engineering management experience
- • Experience building or evolving ledger systems, accounting platforms, or reconciliation infrastructure
- • Strong understanding of data correctness, transactional integrity, and consistency models
- • Experience designing systems where accuracy and auditability are core requirements
- • Familiarity with distributed systems challenges (idempotency, ordering, failure recovery, eventual consistency)
- • Experience partnering with Accounting or Finance to translate domain requirements into technical systems
- • Track record of building and developing high-performing teams
