- • As an Engineering Manager for the Checkout team at GetYourGuide AG, you will lead the engineering efforts behind one of the most critical customer-facing systems in the travel marketplace — ensuring a seamless, secure, and high-converting checkout experience across web and mobile platforms. Your leadership directly impacts how millions of travelers complete bookings, driving both customer satisfaction and sustainable business growth.
- • You will be responsible for hiring, coaching, and performance managing a team of engineers, fostering their technical and professional growth while aligning their work with product strategy and business goals. By partnering closely with product, design, and cross-functional stakeholders, you’ll shape the roadmap, prioritize high-impact initiatives, and ensure delivery excellence in a fast-paced, innovation-driven environment.
- • The Checkout team is at the forefront of modernizing GetYourGuide’s tech stack with an AI-first mindset, focusing on scalability, reliability, and user-centric design. 🎯 Requirements
- • Proven experience as an Engineering Manager or Tech Lead managing software engineering teams, with a strong track record in hiring, performance management, and engineer development.
- • Deep background in full-stack or backend engineering, preferably with experience in e-commerce, marketplace platforms, or consumer-facing web and mobile applications.
- • Demonstrated ability to partner with Product Management to shape roadmaps, prioritize work, and drive high-impact delivery aligned with business goals.
- • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with experience working in international, cross-functional environments and influencing stakeholders across teams.
- • Passion for engineering excellence, simplicity, and customer impact — with a mindset focused on enabling teams to solve complex technical challenges pragmatically and effectively.
