- • As the Operations Engineering Manager for Cloud Networking & Edge at Redfin (a subsidiary of Rocket Mortgage, LLC), you will lead a team of four engineers responsible for the digital backbone supporting Redfin’s high-traffic public website and mobile applications, ensuring performance, security, and resilience of edge networking and internal cloud infrastructure.
- • Day to day, you will direct the career growth and performance of your team through consistent coaching and feedback, drive technical strategy for edge services (CloudFront, WAF, Route53) and internal networking (VPC, Transit Gateway), refine engineering processes for predictable delivery, collaborate cross-functionally with Cloud Governance, SEO, Platform, and InfoSec teams, and work with senior leadership to develop team charter, business metrics, and quarterly roadmaps aligned with Redfin’s engineering vision.
- • You will join Redfin’s engineering organization, which is revolutionizing the $75 billion real estate industry through data, beautiful software, and innovative design, operating in a collaborative, customer-centric environment with award-winning website and mobile apps.
- • In this role, you will develop leadership and strategic planning skills, deepen expertise in AWS networking at scale, influence infrastructure architecture for high-volume consumer traffic, and contribute to Redfin’s mission of putting customers first in home buying and selling while advancing your career in engineering management.
🎯 Requirements
- • 2+ years of experience in a formal engineering management role with proven ability to prioritize stakeholder requests and delegate effectively.
- • 5+ years of experience with AWS networking and edge delivery services, including CloudFront, API Gateway, and VPC Lattice.
- • Track record of managing multi-account cloud environments and scaling infrastructure to handle high-volume, public-facing consumer traffic.
- • High proficiency in Infrastructure as Code (Terraform/Spacelift) and cloud observability platforms such as Datadog or CloudWatch.
- • Ability to translate complex technical investigations into clear business impacts and inspire a team toward a shared mission through strong communication and vision.
