📋 Description

• As Engineering Manager, Console at Twelve Labs Inc., you will own the critical bridge between the company's cutting-edge multimodal foundation models (Marengo and Pegasus) and the customer-facing products that bring these capabilities to life. You will lead the Korea-based product engineering team end-to-end, ensuring that advanced AI model capabilities are translated into reliable, high-quality software that users can interact with directly. This role is pivotal in transforming raw model innovation into tangible product value, with direct impact on how customers experience and apply Twelve Labs' video understanding technology.
• You will drive the product engineering roadmap for the Korea team by deeply understanding customer needs and use cases, then translating them into well-crafted, production-grade software. Working closely with Science and ML teams, you will stay ahead of model developments and ensure new capabilities are productionized quickly and correctly, maintaining a relentless focus on product quality — what customers see, touch, and feel must match the sophistication of what's under the hood.
• You will lead, grow, and manage a fullstack product engineering team in Korea, owning the full management lifecycle including recruiting, onboarding, 1:1s, performance reviews, and career development. Your leadership will foster a culture of ownership, speed, and craft, where the team ships with urgency without compromising on quality or user experience, setting a high bar for technical excellence and collaboration.
• You will provide hands-on technical leadership by driving architectural and technical decision-making, staying engaged in system design reviews, critical-path decisions, and high-risk technical areas. You will translate product and company goals into clear technical plans, milestones, and timelines, making trade-offs explicit and managing dependencies across teams to ensure fast, predictable release cycles through structured planning, weekly reviews, and retrospectives that drive continuous improvement.
• You will collaborate closely with Product, GTM, and Science teams across KR and US time zones to align on roadmap, priorities, and customer needs, acting as a true owner of the product engineering surface. Your ability to translate ambiguous goals into clear execution will be essential in ensuring that every new model capability finds its way into the hands of customers quickly and correctly, operating at the intersection of AI and product to deliver real-world impact.
• In this role, you will have the opportunity to shape the foundation of Twelve Labs' product engineering efforts in the APAC region, making lasting technical and organizational decisions that will influence how the company scales its AI-powered video understanding platform globally. You will grow as a technical leader by navigating the complexities of bringing frontier AI models to market, balancing innovation with reliability, and mentoring engineers to excel in fullstack development, product thinking, and cross-functional collaboration.

🎯 Requirements

• 8+ years of professional software engineering experience, with 3+ years in an engineering management role leading fullstack product teams
• Experience building and shipping customer-facing products in B2B or enterprise contexts, with a high bar for product quality and user experience
• Strong fullstack engineering background — able to credibly review and guide decisions across frontend, backend, and infra layers
• Demonstrated ability to translate ambiguous product goals into clear technical execution: scoping, planning, and delivery with minimal overhead
• Strong communication skills with the ability to align cross-functional teams across KR and US time zones
• Experience taking a product from 0 to 1 — navigating ambiguity, making early architectural bets, and shipping something that didn't exist before
• Experience scaling a product from 1 to many — hardening systems under real load, managing growing team complexity, and maintaining quality while expanding scope
• Familiarity with modern software engineering and infrastructure stacks — e.g., Python, Go, TypeScript/React, AWS, Kubernetes
• Business-level English proficiency — able to communicate clearly in writing and in meetings with cross-functional and international stakeholders
