- • Lead the engineering team responsible for building the omnichannel inbox product that replaces Gmail, Outlook, Front, and all other inboxes — the most-used surface in HighLevel where customers spend the majority of their day managing SMS, email, WhatsApp, DMs, and calls.
- • Own the product vision and execution for Conversations, ensuring it becomes fast, reliable, intuitive, and deeply integrated with the broader HighLevel platform to serve over 1 million businesses across 150+ countries.
- • Drive technical excellence and scalability in a high-throughput environment powering 4 billion API hits and 2.5 billion message events daily, with 250 terabytes of distributed data and 250+ microservices.
- • Foster a culture of ownership, clarity, and execution within a remote-first, global team of over 2,000 members across 10+ countries, aligning engineering efforts with HighLevel’s mission to build systems that support millions of businesses worldwide.
- • Collaborate cross-functionally with product, design, and data teams to translate customer outcomes into engineering priorities, ensuring the inbox becomes the definitive tool for closing deals, answering customers, and running businesses.
- • Mentor and grow engineering talent, promoting initiative and innovation while maintaining rigorous standards for performance, resilience, and long-term system scalability.
- • Contribute to HighLevel’s impact of enabling over 1.5 billion messages, 200 million leads, and 20 million conversations monthly, directly supporting real-world business growth and independence.
🎯 Requirements
- • Proven experience as an Engineering Manager leading teams in building high-scale, customer-facing products, preferably in messaging, communication, or SaaS platforms.
- • Strong background in software engineering with hands-on experience in distributed systems, microservices, and real-time data processing at scale.
- • Demonstrated ability to lead remote-first, global teams and foster a culture of ownership, clarity, and execution.
- • Experience working with high-throughput systems handling billions of events daily, including API-driven architectures and large-scale data infrastructure.
- • Track record of delivering intuitive, reliable, and integrated user experiences in complex omnichannel environments.
- • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
