Engineering Manager, Core Product Engine (Backend)

📋 Description

• • As Engineering Manager for the Core Product Engine (Backend) at Jerry.ai, you will lead the evolution of the company’s critical automation systems that orchestrate end-to-end insurance policy purchases, transforming a tightly coupled legacy system into a robust, fault-tolerant, and scalable framework capable of supporting growth from 5M to 50M users.
• • Day to day, you will spend 80% of your time in hands-on technical work, including refactoring legacy automation systems, designing new standards for decoupled architecture, pairing with engineers to ensure predictability and testability, and leading the transition toward an AI-first approach for internal tools that enable scalable product innovation.
• • You will join a small, high-caliber team of ex-founders and builders who move fast, ship code in days, and operate with minimal bureaucracy, reporting directly to the co-founder/CTO in a culture that values ownership, initiative, and technical excellence.
• • In this role, you will deepen your expertise in complex asynchronous systems, state management, and real-time reliability while gaining exposure to massive consumer data sets (5M+ customers) and shaping the technical foundation for Jerry.ai’s expansion into new verticals beyond insurance.
