- • As an Engineering Manager for the Core Product Experience (CPX) team at Front, you will be instrumental in shaping the heart of our customer operations platform. This pivotal role involves leading a talented group of engineers dedicated to enhancing the inbox and adjacent surfaces where our users manage complex B2B customer interactions. Your leadership will directly influence how thousands of companies communicate with their customers daily, ensuring efficiency, quality, and a positive user experience.
- • The CPX team is responsible for the core functionality of the Front application, including the inbox, messages, composer, and emerging features like ticketing mode. This broad scope means you will tackle a diverse range of technical and product challenges, from real-time messaging systems to sophisticated rich text composition and multi-platform experiences across Web, Desktop (Electron), and Mobile (React Native).
- • You will drive the execution of an ambitious roadmap, translating product specifications into tangible features that are central to Front's value proposition. This involves working closely with Product Managers, Designers, and Data Analysts to define product strategy, prioritize initiatives, and make informed decisions about what to build and why.
- • A significant aspect of your role will be to lead and grow a high-performing engineering team. This includes actively recruiting top talent, mentoring engineers at various career stages, fostering a culture of continuous learning and ownership, and ensuring the team consistently meets high standards of delivery and quality.
- • You will be a key advocate for technical excellence. This means guiding the team through complex architectural decisions, championing best practices in code quality and performance, and ensuring the team builds for reliability and scalability within our real-time, multi-platform environment.
- • Collaboration is at the core of this position. You will partner closely with Product, Design, Data, and other engineering teams, both locally in San Francisco and globally, to ensure alignment and seamless execution. You will represent your team's priorities and communicate trade-offs effectively in strategic planning discussions.
- • As Front continues to heavily invest in AI-powered experiences, the CPX team is at the forefront of this strategic initiative. You will play a crucial role in supporting the integration of AI features into the core product, working in partnership with our dedicated AI team to leverage this technology as a force multiplier for both engineering workflows and user-facing capabilities.
- • This role offers a unique opportunity to impact a product that users engage with extensively. With 95% of all Front interactions occurring within the CPX surface area and users spending an average of 4 hours daily in the inbox, your work directly contributes to Front's differentiation and customer stickiness.
