• • As the Engineering Manager for the Earn Core Pod, you will be at the forefront of developing and operating the core earnings service. This service is the engine behind reward calculation, rate setting, and the seamless distribution of earnings across Kraken's diverse product suite. Your leadership will directly impact the user experience and the operational integrity of our financial products, ensuring that millions of users can confidently engage with crypto.
• • You will lead the development and operation of our sophisticated asynchronous systems. These systems are the backbone of our earnings pipelines, managing everything from background jobs and event processing to the complex flows of reward distribution. This requires a deep understanding of distributed systems and a commitment to building robust, scalable, and fault-tolerant infrastructure that can handle global transaction volumes.
• • A significant aspect of this role involves owning all blockchain and staking services. This includes managing intricate on-chain integrations and the necessary off-chain coordination required for smooth staking operations. You will be instrumental in ensuring the correctness, scalability, and resilience of these reward pipelines, implementing comprehensive monitoring and reconciliation processes to maintain the highest standards of accuracy and operational excellence.
• • You will also take ownership of the Earn Control Center (Admin ECC), a vital administrative interface used for the safe configuration, operation, and auditing of our earnings systems. This tool is crucial for maintaining security, compliance, and operational control over our financial infrastructure, requiring meticulous attention to detail and a strong understanding of risk management.
• • Collaboration is key to success in this role. You will partner closely with other Earn squads, as well as the Blockchain, Funding, and Infrastructure teams. Your ability to define clear ownership boundaries, ensure seamless system integration, and foster strong working relationships will be essential for delivering cohesive and reliable solutions across the organization.
• • You will be responsible for setting and upholding stringent engineering standards for distributed systems, asynchronous architectures, and blockchain integrations. This includes championing best practices in code quality, system design, testing, and operational readiness, ensuring that the Earn Core Pod consistently delivers high-quality, maintainable, and performant solutions.
• • Leading incident response and postmortems for core earnings infrastructure will be a critical responsibility. You will drive thorough investigations into any system failures, identify root causes, and implement long-term reliability improvements to prevent recurrence. This proactive approach to operational excellence is fundamental to maintaining user trust and system stability.
• • You will coordinate necessary changes across Krak, Consumer, and Pro applications to support Core Pod initiatives. This cross-functional coordination ensures that our backend systems are effectively integrated with our user-facing products, providing a unified and exceptional experience for all Kraken users.
