📋 Description

• As an Engineering Manager, Expansion at Render Services, Inc., you will lead a team responsible for building the platform capabilities and critical customer experiences that enable customers to scale successfully on Render. This role is pivotal in shaping the extensibility, security, scalability, and usability of the platform as it supports the growing adoption of AI-native, full-stack applications by over 4.5 million developers worldwide.
• You will own and evolve foundational systems including APIs and integrations, identity and access management (IAM), compliance, CI/CD pipelines, and deployment workflows—core components that allow customers to integrate Render into their development and operational workflows, manage teams and permissions securely, and operate services reliably at scale.
• You will partner closely with Product, Design, and other engineering teams to align the roadmap with customer needs, make key architectural decisions for long-term platform evolution, and balance strategic investments with iterative improvements to customer-facing workflows.
• You will foster a culture of ownership, quality, and operational excellence while hiring and developing engineers as the team grows, ensuring the team can deliver high-impact platform capabilities that drive customer adoption and business impact.
• In this role, you will deepen your expertise in platform engineering, developer experience, and technical leadership, gaining hands-on experience in scaling complex B2B SaaS systems while guiding a high-performing team to deliver secure, reliable, and intuitive developer workflows that power modern AI-native applications.
• You will have the opportunity to shape the future of cloud infrastructure by building systems that eliminate infrastructure complexity, enabling developers to focus on innovation rather than ops—directly contributing to Render’s mission of making cloud infrastructure both powerful and intuitive for the speed of modern AI development.

🎯 Requirements

• Proven track record of leading teams building customer-facing product experiences in complex technical domains
• Strong technical background with the ability to guide the design of scalable, reliable product systems and workflows
• Experience building products on top of underlying platform capabilities such as CI/CD, IAM, compliance, APIs, or deployment systems
• Experience managing and developing engineers, including hiring and performance management
• Ability to operate in ambiguous, cross-functional environments and bring clarity to complex problem spaces
• Experience partnering closely with Product, Design, and other engineering teams
• Strong product instincts and the ability to translate technical capabilities into intuitive customer experiences
• Clear ability to connect engineering investments to customer adoption, usability, and business impact
