- • Abridge is seeking a visionary Engineering Manager to spearhead the development of our Federal government-ready capabilities. In this pivotal role, you will lead a dedicated team of US-based, full-stack software engineers, fostering an environment of innovation, collaboration, and technical excellence. Your team will be instrumental in building and maintaining cutting-edge features using a modern tech stack, primarily Typescript, React, NextJS, and Node.js. A core focus of this position will be ensuring our platform meets and exceeds the stringent security and compliance requirements mandated by federal government regulations. This necessitates a deep understanding of robust architecture, secure deployment practices, and secure technical operations.
- • As an Engineering Manager at Abridge, you will be a key player in shaping the future of AI in healthcare for the federal sector. You will be responsible for the holistic management of your engineering team, encompassing recruitment, retention, and the continuous professional development of each member. This involves providing regular, constructive feedback, identifying and creating opportunities for career advancement, and cultivating a strong team culture that values collaboration, mutual respect, and a shared commitment to achieving ambitious goals. Your leadership will directly impact the team's ability to deliver high-quality, secure, and compliant software solutions.
- • Project management is a critical aspect of this role. You will collaborate closely with product managers, stakeholders, and potentially federal clients to meticulously plan, execute, and support multiple complex projects concurrently. Your oversight will ensure the engineering process is efficient, effective, and aligned with business objectives. You will be accountable for the team's overall output, ensuring timely delivery of features and enhancements while upholding Abridge's high standards for quality, performance, and reliability.
- • Technical leadership will be paramount. You will translate business context into actionable engineering strategies, guiding your team through complex architectural discussions and problem-solving. A significant part of your technical leadership will involve working in close partnership with Abridge's Security Organization to proactively identify and mitigate technical challenges that arise from federal regulations, the management of sensitive data, and the intricacies of operating within federal compliance frameworks. Your ability to anticipate and resolve technical hurdles will be crucial for the success of our federal initiatives.
- • Championing quality is non-negotiable. You will establish and enforce a rigorous standard for software quality, performance, reliability, security, and compliance. This includes ensuring adherence to industry best practices and regulatory standards, particularly those relevant to the federal government. Your commitment to excellence will permeate every aspect of the team's work, from initial design to final deployment.
- • The ideal candidate is a seasoned technologist with a proven track record in software engineering and team leadership. You should be comfortable providing detailed, constructive feedback on technical designs and code reviews, fostering a culture of continuous improvement. Experience building secure, compliant systems on major cloud platforms, with a preference for GCP, is essential. Familiarity with containerization, databases, and modern frontend frameworks is expected. A strong understanding of the software development lifecycle, with practical experience applying agile methodologies like Kanban and Scrum, will be highly beneficial.
- • Your ability to attract, develop, and retain top engineering talent is key. You will have a demonstrated history of mentoring engineers, helping them grow their technical skills and advance their careers. Staying current with industry best practices and emerging tools is a must, as is a passion for continuous learning. We are looking for individuals who are excited to be hands-on in a fast-paced, productive, and supportive startup environment, willing to contribute wherever their skills are needed to drive collective success. Experience thriving in a high-growth startup setting and understanding its unique operational dynamics is highly valued.
- • This role offers a unique opportunity to make a significant impact at the intersection of AI, healthcare, and federal technology. You will be part of a mission-driven company that is transforming healthcare delivery and empowering clinicians and patients. Your work will directly contribute to Abridge's goal of powering deeper understanding in healthcare, processing millions of medical conversations monthly and driving real, lasting change.
- • At Abridge, we foster a culture of extreme ownership, where every employee is empowered and expected to make a tangible impact on our customers and our business. You will work alongside a team of bright, high-achieving individuals in a supportive environment where success is shared, growth is a constant, and feedback is a catalyst for progress. Our decisions are guided by empathy, always prioritizing the needs of clinicians and patients. We are deeply committed to supporting your professional and personal growth through flexible work arrangements, an inclusive culture, and continuous learning opportunities, ensuring you can do the best work of your life.

- • Experience building secure, compliant systems on major cloud platforms (GCP preferred, AWS experience welcome), with familiarity with containers, databases, and modern frontend frameworks.
- • Demonstrated success in hiring and mentoring engineers, with a track record of fostering their skill development and career growth.
