- • Lead five specialized engineering pods (~15 engineers) in Apify Professional Services, delivering technical solutions to customers ranging from startups to Fortune 500 companies.
- • Manage direct reports through regular 1on1s, career conversations, growth plans, and provide constructive feedback to support team development.
- • Drive hiring by conducting technical interviews, evaluating candidates, and attracting top talent to strengthen the team.
- • Uphold technical excellence by setting standards for delivery speed and code quality, guiding architecture and tooling decisions with team leads and senior engineers.
- • Identify gaps and introduce improved practices, tools, and methodologies to elevate team capabilities.
- • Partner with Technical Consultants to ensure smooth delivery aligned with customer communication and project scoping.
- • Collaborate with CTO and fellow Engineering Manager to define and implement engineering processes that support organizational growth.
- • Work cross-functionally with Product, Sales, and Customer Success to align delivery with customer outcomes.
- • Contribute to scaling AI integration across workflows by identifying and implementing emerging AI tools.
- • Foster a culture of learning, continuous improvement, and collaboration within the team.
🎯 Requirements
- • Proven experience leading an engineering team and owning people management at scale.
- • Solid technical background in Node.js and TypeScript, sufficient to evaluate technical decisions and discussions.
- • Track record of giving feedback that helps people grow, with natural talent for building collaboration and guiding team members.
- • Strong English communication skills.
- • Passion for learning, continuous improvement, and supporting others.
